SATURDAY JULY 1******
YAY! Today was the day of our trip to Iguassu falls. Our flight was leaving at 7:50 in the morning. The night before I had set out all my stuff for the trip to be prepared in the morning. I plugged in my camera and charged it for two hours, setting my alarm for 2 in the am to charge my phone. Alarm goes off, I switch stuff to charge and set the alarm for 4ish in the morning to wake up and get ready because lori was going to be at my house by 6 to pick me up in a taxi.
4 in the morning comes, and I wake up and turn my alarm off, only, I'm a little cold and decide to get under the covers for... JUST A FEW minutes. yeah, right. Two hours later I wake up to the buzzer of the apartment. Lori was there, and I wasn't showered or anything. Nice, just great. I shot out of bed and Told lori I would be down in a few minutes and for her to just wait. I threw on clothes grabbed my toothbrush and threw it into my bag along with all my other stuff I'd need tossed on some shoes, combed my hair and ran out of the apartment.
Yep, that's right... the second stressful time of me travelling so far. God, you know I know better than to get under the covers again after turning the alarm OFF... it'd be different if I'd pressed snooze, but I'd turned it off, I'm an idiot. Anyways, we made it to the airport on time and checked into our flight and we all sat in the waiting area at the airport... while they were ordering some food, I went to the bathroom and bathed myself with wet wipes and brushed my teeth in the sink hahaha... it was so funny to see the faces of the people in the bathroom laughing at me. I didn't really care though.
Okay... so we were on the plane and it was a bumpy ride. There was a storm and it was raining hard when we landed... and for most of the day. We were greeted by Margarita our private tour guide and we got in our private chouffered van to the national park to see the falls!
Since it was pouring, we all bought dorky looking ponchos and rented lockers to throw most of our stuff into so it didn't get soaked. We walked all over the Iguassu national park all day... all of the trails, the upper, middle and lower circuit.
It was so beautiful, and even though it was pouring rain, it was worth every penny... I only loaded up some of the pictures, and there are more I need to put up. We took a boat ride into the canyon and saw the devils throat up close, and then they took us UNDER another waterfall and we got soaked!!! SOAKED, like it looked like I peed all down my pants. It was so fun!
Then we got back onto our private van after being at the park from 10 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon, and they took us to catch our bus. The bus was so cool. It was a 17.5 hour bus ride, but our seats were huge with leg rests, and they served dinner and breakfast and showed movies and gave us blankets and pillows to use, it was so cool... I slept the longest on the bus that I've slept the whole time I've been here.
We got back at about 11:30ish this morning (july2) and caught the subway home. I took a shower... my first in two days, and then met everyone at about 3:30 to walk around this little market that's kind of like the Art in the Park but better.
Tomorrow we're going to walmart cause I'm dumb and need to get another small back to check for my flight home, and tueday we're celebrating american style at the Hard Rock Cafe for the 4th of July... Wednesday we're going to the zoo, thursday we're going to the Plaza de mayo, friday we're going to tango again, and saturday we're going to La Boca... which is like Little Italy.
I'm going to post more pictures now. I miss you all and hope you are enjoying my journals!
Besos.
