Christchurch
So I thought I would get in one decent update before I head off to Sunny Thailand. I have had a really relaxing time in Christchurch catching up on alot of sleep and doing everything at a very lesiurely pace. The weather is quite nice here it has been predominately sunny but has a chill in the air so its not too hot and not too cold!
There is not anything anywhere near as exciting to do as other places in New Zealand but in away it has been good to have a break! I don't think I have been this relaxed since I left home. It also gave me time to completely re-pack my back pack, ditching anything that resembles overly warm clothes which would be completely unsuitable for Thailand.
Today I spent most of the day wandering around botanical gardens (where I tried to have a proper think about what I am going to do when I get home.... unfortunately I got distracted by some mallard ducks so have still not properly thought that over!! Oh well... mallard ducks when will I get the chance to see them again... I can sort my future out whenever!!! )
I have visited two different cinemas whilst here, one was a tacky multiplex where I watched Apocolypto with the guide from our tour Nick... it is a good film directed by crazy Mel Gibson it was completely violent and gruesome - Mum do not watch this film!!! I then watched Hollywoodland at a real old fashioned style cinema! Where some crazy guy next to me fell asleep and snored! Much to my amusement!
Tomorrow I am going to go to The Antartic Centre where you can go in a room that gets down to -28 degrees and simulates being in a Artic Blizzard... apparently there are also penguins there which I am sure will be the highlight of the visit! Lovely! Then I am going to go to a Kiwi sanctuary as shockingly I have not seen a Kiwi since arriving in New Zealand, apparently you are not allowed to leave without a least seeing one!
All in all I have enjoyed my time in Christchurch... I am very chilled and needed the time to get myself ready for the next leg of my adventure.
Mother I have posted two separate parcels home! One contains clothes, gifts and my bungee DVD and the other has paperwork, my I.Pod and my journal in it!! The journal is v.important to me so make sure if you have to pick it up from the post office you do it immediately! OR ELSE
