So I have been in Cumnock, NSW for almost three weeks now. A nice wee town with a population of 200 people thats about 5 hours inland from Sydney. I am only just starting to get settled and used to how quiet my life is now! I was not mentally prepared for how rural this place is. Lucky for me, I work in the pub so I get to meet and chat to everybody. Being the tiny place that it is, everyone already knows who I am before they meet me anyway. "The new backpacker" is my official title at the moment.
Everyone out here is lovely and it is a nice change to be out of the city. I 'm glad I came out here and get to experience this side of Australia! I reckon it will be a long three months, but it will all be worth it in the end. The guys that own the pub, Steve & Leonie are lovely so that helps! At the minute my days just consist of getting up, sunbathing for about 2 hours, working in the bar 12-5 and having some beers in the evening. Pretty easy life!!
I am just counting down the days now until my mum & dad get here (5th january!)
