So for those of you who don't know, the Aussie government make us spend 3 months or 88 days in a rural area doing some farm work to stay for a second year. And as I have no desire at all to head back to sunny Scotland, it looks like I'm packing up and moving to a farm.
It's not been easy to find somewhere decent...I have heard some serious horror stories about farming so I really wanted to make sure I went somewhere I wouldn't be completley miserable. Lugging potatos for $10 an hour is not my idea of fun. So I was totally relieved when I found an amazing job working in a bar in the back arse of nowhere that means I could get signed off for my second year. Compared to what most people have to do I am thanking my lucky stars right now!!
So next weekend I am finishing up my job here in Sydney and off I go. Im going on my own so I am slightly apprehensive. It's the first thing I've ever done properly on my own but I will just have to suck it up. I would never in a million years have done anything like this before I came to Oz. And how bad can 88 days be....
