So the time has come for LJ and I to finally set off on our travels. We had a great send off in Glasgow with all our friends and family. Definitely a few sore heads the next day! I was so sad to leave all my friends at Canadian Affair but couldn't have asked for a better bunch of people to work with. And who knows I might be back one day.
My last few days were spent trying to fit most of my belongings, a years worth to be precise, into a backpack. A backpack that when full I would soon realise I couldn't put on or carry. Not ideal. As usual I was unorganised so I spent my last day at home buying travel insurance and trying to cancel phone bills, direct debits etc. A job that in the end was left in the safe hands of my mother while I sunned it up in Dubai.
Finally I had to squeeze in one last session with the girls. What started as a civilised meal ended up getting on the Bucky Bombs in Dusk. Not my finest idea but yolo as they say.
Eventually after months of planning it was time for us to leave. I met Laura at the airport and it's safe to say we were buzzing. We met up with our good pal Krista for our last farewell before dreaded goodbye with our parents. I think it was a lot easier for us to say goodbye as me and LJ practically danced through security and left our poor mums and dads in rainy Scotland.
Safe to say the Emirates flight to Dubai was the best flight iv ever been on. Hot towels and a drink on boarding, choice of meals and we even got our pictures taken and framed as a keep sake. Given that they interrupted us as we were watching the film The Impossible it wasn't the best photo wev ever had taken! So after a great 7 hour flight we made it in one peice, first leg of our trip complete!!
