Day 5. Christmas. Feast of the 3 kings
Got up late. 9:00ish
Went to Montserrat... Benedictine monastery.
Hour train ride there. Country side was such like rural CA and green.
People on the train were friendly and festive.
Took the gondola ride to they'll of the mountain. Wow. Much like a skiing gondola or the gondola in palm springs.....high.
The monestarty is typical benedictine. Vry commercial. These guys figured out how to sustain themselves commercially while still serving the spiritual needs of the greater community.
We took the tram up the hill to the original place where the hermit stayed.
I love the hermit / mystical tradition of
Views were great. The geology of the area is interesting too.
Visited the black madonna. Said my prayer.. Had my insights along the way.
Took the gondola down the hill.
Alex and I went to the bathroom and the train came.... We got left behind o the platform. Jennie took the train. Figured out it was the "wrong" train sort of. Got on he next one. Met Jennie at the next station
Saw the dancing fountains......cool.
Had Epiphany dinner
Rabbit stew, brussel sprouts, potatoes etc. Alex had chicken. It all tater the same.
