Day 2 Tuesday
Cool day so far.
Left apartment by 8.00. Came back to apartment at 8.10 to get cash we need to exchange. We brought a bunch of cash to pay for the apartment. For 2 days we been trying to exchange it. We ended up pulling enough cash out of my daughter Alez's account by mistake to pay for it. (oops). Now i have a bunch of cash and it has been a challenge finding a bak to exchange it. At the cambios the exchange rate is 1.50 while at the bank the rate is 1.30. The banks close at 2:00 here.
Made it to st Jerome plaza. Did the gothic walking tour in the old part of the city. It really helped to have read building of the cathederal by Ken Follet. The catherdral took 150+ years to build. Original is romanesque. Then gothic. The inside is baroque. I now know what that means. Fr pascal, my Latin teacher and fr bernard, my arts teacher would appreciate that my attentiveness in class.
Barcelona was built by the Romans. The people here look like they could be from San francisco or new york or Chicago, but thinner.
Women - boots are in fashion. So are wool leotards/leggings with mini skirts.
