Today our alarm clock went off at 0630! Agh! Evil time of day but a necessary evil! At 7am we were picked up and taken to the pier in Maenam for the high-speed catamaran snorkelling trip! Feeling hungry (they gave us a cup of tea and a sweet bready croissant thing at the pier - yum, I'm full!) and more than a little sea-sick (Sara) we barely enjoyed the 2 hour trip to Koh Nangyuan, an uninhabited turtle-shaped island near Koh Tao. We were snorkelling there for an hour or so then had lunch - I'm sure it was chicken tendons, which they love over here, so I stuck to the green curry though Dan insisted it was just chicken so indulged!
Then we sat on a broken boat for 40 minutes, transferred to a working boat, and motored on round to a bay on Koh Tao, one of the worlds top diving/snorkelling sites. This was a jump-off-the-boat jobby and was good fun! Again, about an hour in the water and then back on board, back to Koh Nangyuan and just enough time to neck a beer (Dan) and get brain-freeze trying to neck a coconut shake! Then back onto the catamaran for a sleepy journey back to Samui.
A good day all in all and very tiring, but we got back about 6pm and lazed around long enough to build up to dinner in the night bazaar (this was the 'cheap' option which ended up costing 30 quid - a lot round here!).
