Second day on the moped and, after Dan picks up his 3 new shirts from the tailors, we head out, this time North on the ring road, back to Bo Phut and Fisherman's Village, which apparently comes to life around 4pm. We were a little early and fairly unexcited - it's supposed to be very cosmopolitan with funky shops, trendy restaurants etc...
We drove straight through towards Big Buddha, which is, in fact, a Big Buddha! If I could get photos to upload, you could see but I'll do that when I get home I guess! Pretty impressive structure and a nice place to chill with an ice-cream for a bit! We then headed further round on the coast road to Choeng Mon and ended up on a nice little stretch of beach for a while, next to some ex-pats who run a dive school. They've been in Samui for a couple of years and the kids go to a school called Bluewater - hmmmm, sounds interesting! A British school on a paradise island - only problem would be the excessive sweating I think!
We had a snacky lunch in a bar at the beach before continuing down to Chaweng Beach, the larger, and apparently nicer, version of the beach we are staying at. Again, unexcited. We stood looking at it for all of 30 seconds before getting back on the bike. It's a beach. Same as our one. A beach, simple as that, but busier!
So, back we went to our place, to the pool, to read books and swim! Dinner was early tonight as we're up early in the morning and we enjoyed more king prawns and beer before hitting the sack!
