So we arrive about 9am the next morning and are met by a guy from the guest house. We get there, check in and are impressed by the room but mostly by the swimming pool! We like pools!
We don't nap this time, and instead go straight out and about for a walk to the walled city of Chiang Mai. We visit some 'wats' (temples), play some puzzles while drinking smoothies and generally wander around! We then head back for some pool time and a bit of reading by the pool! This is the life!
We go out for dinner to a place called the Riverside. Guess where that was?! It was nice though both of us chose 'unusual' mains and struggled a little - Dan with his ruby fish and serpant head fish (quite 'muddy' from the river we think!) and me with my potato basket of seafood and chicken - 3 prawns, some veg and chicken plus a loada stuff I don't like! Nice desserts though, played it safe there!
After dinner, and a couple of Singha beers, we head to the Muay Thai, the Thai boxing. That was fun! It was the proper stuff too, not the staged version. The Thais were all betting, so Dan and I wagered amongst the 2 of us! Dan mostly won until my money was all but gone completely!
A New Zealand guy was playing in the 'International fight' - he won, which was cool. It's all so vicious! We left around half 11, having watched most of the fights for the night. Home to bed!
