Sunbaked on the beach for 20 minutes and it was so hot that was all I could stand. Spent the rest of the day listening to my reggae mix on my Ipod in the shade by the pool. Swam a lot but could not put my head in as I had an external ear infection in one ear. I went to the pharmacist and got sofradex, didn't need a script. Drank a lot of watermelon juice which I love as well as water.

Went to Jack's Beach Bar again and Bob Marley's 'Buffalo Soldier' was playing on the stereo. I still love Bob Marley. Had a great night with Colleen, a 44 yo woman from Vancouver, Jack and Ayam, (pronounced Arm) my young Rasta friend. Colleen is a travel agent and her partner is a cop. They have been coming to Samui since 1989 and come 3 or 4 times a year and stay at the same hotel - Amari in the same room. They have been together since they were 18 and have not married and decided not to have children. Her partner was sleeping off a 24 hour flight from Vancouver.

Jack wants to come to Australia with me as my bodyguard. I had to laugh and told him I didn't need a bodyguard. I've laughed a lot with these friendly Thai people. I told Jack I was going to Koh Pha Ngan tomorrow and he didn't want me to go. He tried to talk me into staying with him in his bungalow. He said he wanted me. I asked him why he wanted me and he said it wasn't for money because he had money from his own bar and he doesn't have sex with farangs (foreigners). He said "I talk, talk, talk to you and I don't know why". He's so sweet.

I'm off to Koh Pha Ngan tomorrow.
