It had rained all night and all morning. In the afternoon it stopped raining and I walked along the beach into town. I bought a Billabong cap and Diesel bag - both of which I love. I had a banana pancake and coconut juice at Montien on the beach. Later I had a margarita at one of the main bars and it was so noisy with music from several bars creating a discordant sound that was not relaxing.

I moved on to another bar and had a mojito and finally decided Jack's Beach Bar was the most relaxing. No competing bars and sounds. Roy Orbison was playing on the stereo - an unusual choice for a reggae bar. I lied down on a mattress on the beach and a gorgeous Thai guy with the longest dreadlocks made me a mojito. Jack the owner came and sat with me and he was the cutest, sweetest little guy.

I went and had a red duck curry at Buddsaba Restaurant where Rodriguez was playing on the stereo. Hadn't listened to him for years. 'Sugarman' takes me back to the 70's. Went back to talk to Jack. We sat on the beach looking at the full moon and stars as he told me all about himself.
