Hello everyone! its almost eleven o clock here, we arrived safely after a very emotional goodbye and a stupidly long flight. Meeting david walliams (little britain star who swam the channel) in heathrow was very surreal, he pretended to be talking to someone else as we said hello and looked at me as if he wanted my head when I sneakily took a picture of him! Not that funny in real life at all. Our hotel is fine, nothing special but pretty good for ten pounds a night! So far all we have done is walked around the outskirts of Bangkok. We have eaten an incredible selection of thai food at a small family run business and drank a lot of fifty pence a pint beer! We have really been thrown into the deep end at the very begginning of our trip. On the way here we saw street children sleeping on the sides on main roads, a huge amount of beggers and houses made of nothing but piled up rubbish. We were instantly shown into the Thai way of life from the minute we stepped out of our hotel. Laurie has already been chatted up by a group of men and whilst looking for a restaurant we accidently stepped into a place that was selling a lot more than food! we instantly left and on leaving the street realised that we had been lead into a red light district, predominantly run by men! Very embarrasing. I honestly can't imagine anywhere more different than England and i feel very very far from home already. We have one more day left in Bangkok tomorrow in which i will try and take a lot more photos, I will post them on the site when I have accumulated enough for it to be worth it! I hope that you are all well, see you soon x x
