Hello hello. Thanks for all your messages, its really good being able to tell you what i do just after i have done it! We went to Ayutthaya yesterday which is filled with loads of old temples and elephants on the roads. We had a fantastic tour guide who taught us a lot about ancient Thailand,it was really interesting.
Our train to Chang Mai last night was three hours slower than expected so all in all we were on the train for 15 hours! Suprisingly, however, i slept pretty well.
We had a free day in Chang Mai today and went to the zoo. Is was awful, the animals had no room to run around and they all looked malnourished. Chang mai is famous for it's night market, which i am in the middle of seeing right now, it's really good, you can buy absolutely anything here so i am trying to find a few good bargains. By day the city is very similar to Bangkok only cleaner and the air is fresher. We have learnt all about the hil tribe people today and i have rented some gear, i.e a sleeping bag, in anticipation of our trek tomorrow, i'm really excited. Everything else in Thailand so far has been ruined by tourists, hopefully, as the hill tribes are so remote, we wont have that problem!
Thanks for trying to sort my uni application for me, i will go to any interview they can give me starting from the day after i get back! I will post another message and more photos after our trek, take care x
