Second last day in Nepal!! Well, full day. We leave on Sunday at some crazy early hour in the morning...
We woke up surprisingly early (8ish), the went to Gaia for a full breakfast, and bumped into Michael who we had a chat with briefly. We then went back to the hotel for 2 minutes to pick up my camera, then walked down to the famous Durbar Square. It took us about 20 minutes to walk down, then wandered around for a little bit. There was a boy asking us for food or money, then jumped in the middle of a flock of pigeons we were taking a picture of - got an amazing picture of him posing!! We also found a whole set of stalls selling basically the same things, but we bought a few things there, and also found a place where they sell yak leather bags, slightly cheaper than the ones in Thamel. I bought myself one - couldn't resist!!
We then started to walk back up to Thamel, and bought some glow-in-the-dark stars for the kids at DNC. We stopped in a few watch/sunglasses shops too, and found one where they were selling very nice ones!! Liam bought himself a Rolex (fake of course!!), and I found a really nice one in another shop, took a picture and showed our guy the watch. He showed a few like it, but I preferred the other one, so he said he could get it for us. I just phoned him now, and he said he could bring it to the hotel tomorrow evening which is VERY nice of him!! But we might go down that way again anyway!!
Anyone in need of a good watch for not that much money?!
We took a rickshaw back to Thamel, bargained from 400rps down to 150rps yeahhhh!! Back at the hotel, we completely repacked everything, sorting out what we're leaving out here, bringing back, and throwing away. We popped out to the supermarket to get last minute noodles and chocopies, got some supper, and now we're back at the hotel, short of money and tired!!
Oh and I'm getting a tattoo tomorrow!! 5pm, an elephant on my inner ankle. I'm scared how much it'll hurt!! But I'm sure it'll be fine :) it's in a safe and sterile place, so don't worry mums and doctors!!
