Tuesday, COEX Mall - Began the day with Rotiboy...wanted to enjoy it one last time:) Jake and I tried to have a less taxing day seeing as I'm going to be spending a lot of time on an airplane tomorrow and he has to go back to work...however tackling one of the biggest malls I've ever seen may not be easy! Seriously, this mall is underground, all on one level...so it goes on forever...and the stores are so small so there's a million of them. I was still determined to find a dress for Make A Statement...but, the Korean shops just weren't having it...nothing in my size...oh well! I found a few more souvenirs and had Sbarro's in the food court...seems silly I know.
We saw that there was a temple near the mall so we set out to find it...and it was more or less across the street, but we had a bit of trouble because the guide book said it was the opposite direction...a nice man offered to help us and we found our way. Bongeunsa Temple is in a busy district but the instant you walk through the gates you feel tranquility. There is a giant Buddha overlooking the mall and city as well as one larger temple with a few smaller ones. A monk was praying in the large temple and Buddhists were worshipping so I didn't take any pictures inside...I snagged one of a wall of Buddha's in another.
Jake and I stopped back at the mall to get a Chocolate Snow at Seven Monkeys Coffee and I bought licquor at the grocery store.
We spent the rest of the day watching Psych and The Invasion and ordered chicken in...like I said, Jake has to get up and teach at 6:30am and I have to fly home...
Seoul was amazing and all the people, especially my brother, who made the experience possible are spectacular...now it's back to real life!
