Wednesday, Sinchon - Jake and I got on the subway and ventured to the shopping streets behind Ewha Women's University, a trendy neighborhood where there are four universities and lots of hip young people...I'm hoping to find something unique for Make A Statement which is the day after I return...but no luck here since all the shops are little boutiques that either sell second-hand stuff or custom-made which means one-of-a-kind and not in my size!
We had lunch at a restaurant that Jake frequents. Most places have a button on the table that you use to call the server...great idea...how many times do you need something and have to wait for the server to come by and then try to catch their attention? I ordered curry with tofu and ate it with chopsticks somewhat successfully...tried the kimchi (spicy and tolerable) and some fish strip things (kind of gross)...also ate dried seaweed (one was okay, the second one was rough).
I wish I would have taken more pictures of the shopping streets and maybe the university area...still getting over the tourist thing...
We went back to Jake's so he could rest before his evening classes...then I ventured out on my own to a couple department stores to see if I could have better luck...just like back home, though...the department stores are a bit pricey...pretty stuff with more sizes available, but unable to really ask questions considering I only speak English...
