Sunday, Goyang International Flower Festival - It was Hyunok's idea to venture out of the city to a suburb-like place and check out the flower festival...her mom had gone last year and she thought I would like it...sure did! We stopped to get coffee at our favorite angel in-us and got on the Korail for a rather long trip.
Goyang does feel different from Seoul because it's a bit more spacious...there's a a big lake and park as well as festival grounds where the flower show was...we bought our tickets right in the train station and began our trek with all the other visitors. There were outdoor and indoor exhibits of all kinds...I was thinking of Mom the whole time...hope she's not too jealous:) There were a million people and it was a bit warm...Jake and I both got sunburned just a little.
We took a break around 3pm to get something to eat...we headed over to the mall a couple blocks away and had pasta and Spaghettio...I had Kungpao chicken spaghetti which was spicy and delicious...oh, and garlic bread...which I had been craving since pizza.
We made our way back to the flower show and saw the rest of it and then got ice cream. On our way to the train station we saw a man with a monkey and Hyunok stalked him to get some pictures. We had another long train trip ahead of us, but got seats (with transfer) the whole way which was nice...Jake and Hyunok both fell asleep...I got some pictures of the farmland and mountain that we passed.
With another late lunch and Jake spending so much money while I'm here I said that dinner didn't have to be too extravagant...plus, Hyunok had to get back to Incheon because she had to work Monday morning. We got back to the apartment and I uploaded all my pictures onto Jake's hard drive while Jake and Hyunok played Nintendo DS. We walked Hyunok to the train station and got some sandwiches from Little Jakob's...we decided to watch Underworld 2 because I couldn't remember if I'd seen it and I didn't want to watch the 3rd one since Scott Speedman wasn't in it:)
Namsan (South Mountain) tomorrow...
