We decided to stay in Surfers Paradise, on the Gold Coast, as the name seemed to describe it all! It was a little bit like Majorca, but with a nicer beach! So we decided to get into tourist mode and on our first day we headed to "Ripley's Believe It or Not" museum. The museum is based on a real man's (Ripley) strange findings and artifacts from around the world, and it was, indeed, strange!! We saw statues of the tallest and fattest men, shrunken heads and many more weird and wonderful things, including some fertlity statues which had to be taken off display at one of the museums, as they were working a bit too well!
On our last night in the Gold Coast we decided to go to the Dracula's Cabaret (as you do!). It is basically a themed restaurant with entertainment, but with a difference. All the staff are in fancy dress and in character. When you arrive you are taken into a haunted lift to the bar which is decked out like a haunted house, you then take a ghost train to the theatre/restaurant area. After dinner, which was really good, the show begins, which includes songs, dances and comedy. We saw Hitler in suspenders, Queen Victoria naked, magic tricks and lots of rude jokes!! We had a great night and would highly recommend it!
