We took a mini bus to LA, after our bad experiences with Greyhound, which turned out to be much better! We stayed in Hollywood, on the Hollywood Boulevard, right next to the Metro so we were in a good position to explore the different areas.
First up we went to see the Walk of Fame, where you can see the stars on the sidewalk (pavement!) and Grauman's Chinese Theatre where there are hand prints and footprints in the cement, of stars from Hollywood; from Bruce Willis to Donald Duck.
We then went to the Wax Museum which was rubbish; we couldn't make out who half of the people were supposed to be it was that bad, but the ticket included entry into the Guinness World Records museum which was really good, very interesting and a little strange! We learned very important information like how much your feet sweat in a day and the heat of lightening! We then headed to Little Tokyo for lunch, which was quite small, but we found a lovely Sushi place - yum!
After lunch it was time to hit Rodeo Drive baby! We saw the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel (where Edward and Vivianne stayed - for all you Pretty Woman fans!) and we looked in the windows of places like Chanel, Gucci and Louis! No Primani in sight! That night we went to the Sunset Strip for dinner.
The next day we headed to Santa Monica and strolled around the shops and then headed further round the coast to Venice Beach, where we oggled the weightlifters on Muscle Beach (not a patch on you though, Rob!). Venice was exactly what we imagined, lots of tourist shops, rollerbladers and body builders. We had a couple of hours on the beach then headed to the supermarket for a dinner in, for once - yummy cereal, yogurt and fruit in plastic bowls! LA was good fun, but unfortuntely no famous people around!
