Heres an update of the last two days:
26th dec: Still in BA, was awake almost all of the night with Jet lag and THUNDERSTORMS. But still got up and did heaps.
Got the Subte (underground) to Palermo, was am interesting trip there. Got off and had a look around, was a really nice suburb with small cobble stone streets and boutique/designer stores everywhere. Had some pastries for lunch mmm.
Met a lovely old man who told me to go and see the Japonese gardens and a big statue. Was really pretty but the gardens were full of mosquitos.
Then I went to MALBA to see an Andy Warhol exhibit ($15 pesos!) and then went to crogression square , cafe Tortoni, Av de Mayo, (nothing to do with mayonaise, mayo is the word for may here) Plaza de Mayo and Galeris Guemes where Antione Saint-Exupery lived (writer of Le Petit Prince).
I had to run to make a free tour of the rich neigbourhoods, embassies and big fancy hotels. When that finished went to a market in Recoleta and to see the big metal flower that opens and closes.
Had dinner at 9:30 pm (very early for BA) and went to sleep.
27th: Got up and went for a walk around puerto Madero, Puentede la Mujer and then walked to San Telmo for a HUGE market lining all the little streets.
Went to La Boca for lunch which was nice but a bit touristy. Spent all the rest of my pesos before heading to the airport to catch a flight to Lima, Peru.
Was a 5 hour flight and as usual Aerolineas Argentina was late! Got in a 10:30pm local time and by the time I got to my hostel (which is in a suburb of Lima) it was midnight.
28th dec:
Had a really great sleep last night and then got up and had a relaxing morning. Think I will head off for a look around the area soon (which is in the flashest and most expensive part of Lima), really good fruit around the area too.
Will update again soon x
