It was cool how you met that lady on the street and she invited you into her home. A unique experience for you. Well 3 of my really good friends have left for there travels this week. They are going to LA, San Fran, Vegas then Mexico for a month and maybe Guatemala I think then to New York and bank to LA to fly to England where they have 2 year working Visas and are going to work and travel around UK & Europe. I am so jealous hopefully i will be able to save enough to go see them. Are you on Facebook?? I have tried looking for you but I couldnt seem to have any luck. How is the flatting going. I hope you are doing well. Carla and Adam are here at the moment so have seen them a couple of times. I think they are having a BBQ at Myshells next weekend. Hi Amanda
Yes summer has arrived. Today Beattie had me on apprentice fencing. Yep you got it. Get this, hand me that, pass me this. All while he was standing still. Luckly we had Chrissie and Roger call in for lunch (they brought it as they saw us fencing) It was so hot today got but sunburnt helping Beattie fencing, but had turned the spa downs so we had a cool off time in it.
Abby is doing Health Science for the first year then Physiotherapy. She is staying in the halls, so think Donna and Mark are happy about that. Needless to say bet she is flatting next year!! Yep sunshine has arrived and watering the vege garden is full time. Unfortunately while we were away the visiting cows ate my tomatoes. Have regrowth but will be a very late season for us.
Enjoy the rest of the trip. Lots of love The Beatties

Hola Amanda,
We are so looking forward to reading your Blog from Cusco. I believe it's on the shores of Lake Titicaca and that lake is about the height of Mt Cook above ses level. There is so much history around that region and we'd love to have visited. Take care and enjoy every moment of your journey. Mucho amor, Ngaire & Pauline

Hi Amanda. Dad finally sent how to get onto your blog. What a wonderful time you are having. Brian and I are back to work this week we have had a great holiday in the campervan travelling as far down as nearly Dunedin then down to Omuku - central otago and stopped along watering holes on the trail trail. We might attempt that one day. From there we went up the Haast but the weather was as usual raining. we stopped in wonderful DOC camp sites and did some lovely walks in the bush. We attended the kumara, Hokitika, Reefton and Greymouth races but didn't make our fortune. We had sunny weather and have come back to overcast days with some rain. Jonathan stayed home to look after Wag and the cat - Casper.
Keep safe and have lots of fun.
Love Bernie, Brian and Jono

Hi Amanda. Your still having a great time I see, you don't seem to be home sick yet? Things sound very cheap over there which will help with your budget. I have Chemo again to morrow, this time they are going to give me full strenght again Dr Gibbs thinks now that I got over all the bugs I had and the blood sample have improved we can go back to full strenght. The liver is much improved on last time. The nurse comes every Wed to dress and flush the PICC line and when I have Chemo the next day she takes the blood and sends it in that save me having to go 1.5 hrs before for that test . The nemw GP is great he is about 35 and did some time in the oconogy dept at Chch hospital, he was easy to talk to,I felt as though he was realy interested totally differant than Dr Fisher. I placed an order for my car parts on fri last week and they arrived today so that was like an other Xmas present for me.(3days from the east coast of USA delivered to my door step). Weare going to Glentui this weekend (if I'm okafter chemo) for the week end should be back Mon some time. I,m going to stop in at the muscle car show at Rangiora and take the red blazer with a for sale sign while I look around., mum will carry on to Glentui in her car.Every thing at home is good weather is still crap should be good for your return. Yhat's all for now. Love Mum and Dad

Hi Amanda
Am round at Mark and Bex's place. We went hunting for your blog on gooogle and found it!!! Blog is very intereresting and we're going to try to keep up with all your news.
We are keeping an eye on Fred and Rayleen
We visited Caroline Bay the other day. Saw a concert, which was marvelous. Havn't been there for years! And your jammie auntie sheryl won a huge teddie bear. Took Trista to the Rodeo on monday, which was awesome. Trista was well behaved as we were there for about 8 hours.
Sounds like you like the tucker (all those "yummy" meals). Pleased to hear you are over your tummy problems. Keep safe, have fun (which I know you will), all the best, thinking of you,
