We spent the majority of the day at the beach. We took a public bus to Manuel Antonio and stopped at a restaurant for breakfast. The breakfast was 2 full plates of fruit, pancakes, eggs, rice and beans, bread and coffee. Crazy. It cost $3.60. It was our first inexpensive meal of the trip!
We entered the Manuel Antonio national park which is renowned for the wildlife. We were warned ahead of time about the cheeky monkeys who will grab things out of your bag. No sooner had we entered the park, we saw several white faced monkeys hanging around the beach. Luckily, none of us girls had anything stolen. Our guide told us a story about a monkey wearing a stolen pair of panties on its head. Cheeky!
Well, after spending 6 hours in the sun, I can say that I'm fairly evenly burnt. That's the best I could hope for, really. It's weird to think my friends back home are dealing with subzero temperatures and lots of snow!
We finished off the night at El Avion, a restaurant built around an old airplane. It was our final dinner as a group. The ladies had another dance fest which included incorporating some yoga/aerobics moves that we saw a girl doing on the beach (by herself). The dancing was a riot!
