Hi again
Our trip to Stone Town went really well. Together with our roommates we had to walk around town and solve different assignments, so that we could get to know the place better. The assignments were among other things: find an ATM and make a withdraw or find the local Dala dala station and the supermarket. It was fun walking around and exploring on your own and getting lost in the small alleyways of the town. Although you don't get lost for long, because sooner or later, you'll end up on either the seafront or a bigger road. Small shops selling woodcarvings and paintings were everywhere. To get back to the ATM. It was pretty funny when we had to make our withdraw, because we wanted to take out 400.000 tanzanian schillings, and then it came out in 10.000 schillings, so it was the biggist pile of money I have ever held in my hands hehe! You felt like you just won in the lottery. We also looked in many of the small shops, and everyone tried to sell you something, and of course you would get a "very special price" :) Later we allmet up atthe beach to have dinner together. There was a large variety of meat, fish, zanzibari pizza and vegetables/fruits. Very delicious.
Now we are only 3 staying in the bungalow, because one of the norwegian girls went back home. Her grandmother had past away,so she wanted to go back and be with her family. We don't know if she is coming back again or not, but probably she isn't going to make it back.
Last night we went to a bar in town called "Paje by night". When we got there we all went straight to the dance floor, and gave it our best hehe! There was a really good vibe and a lot of people. Turists and locals. They played many songs from the 80ies. It was so funny when you where dancing and suddenly you would look around and see 5 masai's dancing too :) Didn't imagine that I would see that.We had an awesome night. And when we wanted to go home a masai from our school would walk with us back to the school. It was really dark walking back along side the beach.
Enough for now.
