My time in la Paz mainly focused on eating a lot of great food- though none was really Bolivian! Met up with a friend I had met in brazil at the beginning of my trip and it was nice to see a friendly face. On my first day we had a walk around the witches market which was very interesting with llama foetus hanging all over the place of different ages- quite gross! As it was Saturday that night we decides to party though it was fun it was very unsuccessful! We started by having dinner with a few beers and getting checked out by 10 because they wanted to close- one girl hadn't even finished her last mouthful before being turfed out! We then went to the party hostel wild rover but they wouldn't let us in due to our hostel so we went to the back up Loki and I am so glad I choose not to stay in party hostels as it was just full of people wearing togas but it was fun. Went to find the club but the taxi driver decided to take us else where and else where was not fun so in the end we just hopped from terrible bar to terrible bar before giving in and going home! My other days in la Paz are a bit of a blur apart from the day of death road!!
We got picked up and driven to the start of death road where we got kitted out in really massive sexy biker gear before starting the road! The first bit we nicely tarmac so we could go really fast which was amazing with the mountains on one side. Well it was amazing until some tosser in his car drove up behind me and honked his horn! That made me jump and because my bands were on the breaks this meant I stacked my bike whilst going at super speeds- ow and my side was royally bruised almost instantly as well but it was a pretty awesome bruise! The rest of the trip was completely terrifying and I was a complete mess all the way down as I was scared I would crash my bike again - so irrational! The end was worth is for beer and a swim in a pool which was lovely!
On return we sorted out our bus tickets to copacabama!
