We started the trip at around 7 in the morning but it then took 2 hours of queuing to cross the chilean border! Finally we were in our way and had a spot of breakfast at the Bolivian border!

We first went to a view point over two lagoons verde and blacks with amazing views as they are surrounded by mountains! We then went to a hot spring which was lovely to bop about in and something to think about when cold later! We then went to the geysers and this is where it all went wrong! Myself and the Dutch guy in my trip were taking photos of each other in the smoke when he suddenly disappeared! I went to see what happened and he had fallen in a geyser and was shouting for someone to help him. I ran to try and get help but luckily he pulled himself out and we spent the rest of the afternoon at a small hospital! Was really scary and he was so lucky he didn't fall into one of the really hot ones as he could if died! That night it was minus 5 inside the building we were sleeping in so I had about four jumpers and blankets and it was just about ok then!

The next day luckily we had no other injuries but I had lost my English speaking friend as everyone else was French speaking pretty much so I was by myself for the rest of the trip which kinda sucked but the views were so good it was worth it! We first went to a frozen lagoon with flamingos on it in the distance and the lagoon was surrounded by snow capped mountains! We then went to this place with massive rock formations and had lunch there which was a pretty cool place to eat. After lunch we went to this amazing lagoon with hundreds of flamingos and spent ages taking photos and watching them fly and feed. We then has a bit of a drive to San juan which was the village we stayed in that night. We stayed in a salt hotel which was amazing the beds, chairs, tables, walls and floor were all made of salt!

We woke up at 5.30am to watch the sun rise over the salt flats which was so beautiful! Is amazing to watch the sky turn shades if reds, orange, yellow and purple and then the sun appear- great way to start the day! We then drove across the salt flats to a place to take lots of pictures and admire are unique this place is, just nothing for miles but salt and some mountains in the distance! We also had lunch on the salt flats which was really cool! That afternoon we went to the train cemetery just outside if uyuni which I thought was wicked as they had turned parts of it into swings and a see-saw! Late that afternoon I just bummed around uyuni which is not the most exciting town and waited for my night bus to sucre.
