Minty says I should 'consult' him on what I write here as he believes he can contribute well needed comical input. I'm definitely not going to and am debating whether or not to cancel his bed in Florence tomorrow. Especially after this morning, he casually asked me where our busabout passes were (50 quid fine for losing them) whilst on his way out to the shop. I was packing at the time and thought they were on the bed but soon found that they weren't.. The next half hour was the most stressful of the entire holiday, I turned the room upside down.. Stripped the beds, unpacked the bag again, looked in the bin, under the floor boards and all the while getting more and more sweaty and stressed (it's like a sauna in there during the day). I managed to cut my finger and bled everywhere and then a bird pooed, somehow, inside my top when I went to get the washing.. (took that as a sign the pope wasnt happy with the neck style of clothes I had chosen for visiting the Vatican). It wasn't until the 29th minute when I thought to look inside mintys bag, I had considered it before but this bag is like his baby and he has a special system and I rarely get to touch it, I knew that if the bright orange passes were in there then he'd know. But no, there they were, chillin' in the bag. I just sat down and fumed for the remaining 20 secs until minty sauntered in and was welcomed with the room and me looking like a bomb had gone off. He had bought bread though so I couldn't stay mad for long.
After lunch we got the public bus to the Vatican, the bus was slow and crowded but I'm really impressed with the metro. For 75 mins unlimited travelling on bus and metro it is just 1 euro. And the metro really is very nice. We loved the Vatican, now that we finally made it in! I think China was taking a day trip there though because it was so so busy. We did notice though, that even when apart we can easily see each other as we are over a foot taller than everyone else (especially in my special shoes), so no fears of losing each other. The Sistine chapel was beautiful, really amazing. Its a shame we aren't allowed to take photos. But i'm sure there's thousands on the Internet cause everyone was taking sneaky snaps. Due to our fatigue remaining from the last few days we went straight back to the camp site. We packed (again) and got some pizza. Although we will be sharing in Florence, we are looking forward to leaving the tent which is cold and night and unbearably hot during the day, and have struggled with the loud neighbours... But no doubt we will miss it desperately when we meet our new room mates... Will let you know about that! Sorry about the lack of photos but still struggling to upload them! :)
