Got up and dressed and made my way to the bus stop, as I was going back to the Zoo! There were 3 other girls waiting at the bus stop who were going so I knew I was in the right place and the minibus turned up on time! Chatted to the girls on the way to the zoo, didn't take long to get there, only about half an hour. My ticket worked with no problems (hooray!) and I got in! We arrived at 10 and were leaving at 4, so had 6 hours to fill! Spoke to one of the girls at the information bit to find out when I could cuddle a Koala, and she said there were three sessions and the first was at 10.30 so I thought I would go for that. As I was walking over to the photo area it started pouring down with rain, the rain they have out here comes quickly and heavily! You were right mum, should have kept the mac! I stopped of to listen to the toirtoise talk for a bit, they were huge! Never knew they could get so big. I looked around the gift shops and stuff while I waited for the Koala cuddle, then when it got to half 10 I paid for my ticket and got in line! They brought out the Koala and it was SO cute! I little boy, really smiley, I was so excited :-D There were a few girls infront of me, one who got pooed all over haha! Glad that wasn't me! Then it was my turn! The women told me how I should hold him and then she wrapped him round me! He was soooo cuddly!!!! Really soft, quite heavy but not too bad, he was only small. He had gorgeous fur, white spots on his ears and back and such a cute face. It was really lovely to hold him. His name was Slater, named after the surfer Kelly Slater. I was too caught up in it so totally forgot to smile at my own camera, grr, but had my photo done by the professional guy then had to give Slater back, boo! Went over to see the photo and it was SO bad, I looked hideous. Like that hunchback thing from that film. Luckily, the photographer agreed it wasn't great, so I got to go back and have another cuddle, woo! Hehe, quick photo then he was onto the next person. The photo i have got isn't great but i'm so glad I did it. Once that was done I went to the Crocoseum for the wildlife warriors show I had seen last time. While I waited for it to start I looked at my map and show times and tried to plan my day, as I wanted to see as many of the shows as I could. Otherwise, 6 hours would have been way too long! Luckily the rain had died down and it actually got pretty sunny over the next few hours. The Warriors show was the same as last time but still really good to watch, the croc was a lot more lively this time too! Once that finished I went up to the food court and brought some lunch, and sat eating that and reading my magazine for a while which was nice. I then walked up through the wallabes and kangaroos, into the wetlands where I hadn't been before, which had lots of birds in it, past the red panda and to the elephants! Hadn't seen much of them last time so was looking forward to this, the keeper talk. It was really good, they talked all about the elephants and what they're like, what they do on a day to day basis, stuff like that. Still love elephants, these ones seemed really cheeky. Once the talk finished I stayed behind and spoke to one of the keepers for a while, that was cool and I found out a few more things about them. After a while there I got on the shuttle train, which goes around the park and had a guide at the front telling you about the zoo. Got off at the food court and did that corner of the park, where I saw camels, crocs, koalas, tasmanian devils, dingos and some lizards. Then got on the bus and did the rest of the loop which took me to the elephants and I walked to the Tigers! There was a tiger show going on, unfortunatly I missed a bus by a minite so by the time I got the next one the tiger show had nearly finished, but what I saw was amazing!! The trainers were in with the tigers and the bond between them was amazing! The tigers was gorgeous and super playful, playing with toys, play fighting with the trainers and splashing around in the pool. The pool was at the front of the enclosure and the trainer got the tiger to run towards the pool and leap in causing a huge splash to hit the glass between us and the enclosure, looks absolutely awesome. Went in the shop and brought a set of two gorgeous bracelts, going to give one to Laura Aspen when i get home as they're the "best friend" ones - sounds cheesy but they're nice! After the tigers I went back to the elephants as it was time for the ellie feed! This time the elephant properly wrapped his trunk round my hand as he grabbed the melon so that was cool! Said bye bye to the ellies then walked through the Koala enclosure and got to see lots of koalas. They were a lot more lively than last time (well, lively for a koala at least!). Walked into the big red kangaroo enclosure when it absolutley poured with rain, even worse than last time! So got prety drenched. Everyone in the enclosure went to the shelter in the middle, and so did the kangaroos! There were more roos than people! So that was pretty cool. Braved the rain when it died down slightly and kept going, through the birds and wombats! Then I got to the otters in time for the Otter feed which was brilliant, there were three gorgeous otters who were so playful and cheeky, hadn't seen much about otter's before so that was a great one to see.Once that was done it was nearly 4 o'clock so I went into the main gift shop and could not resist getting a little souvenier... hello cuddly elephant! I know, I don't need any more cuddly toys, especially elephants, but I couldn't resist. He's only little! Got picked up at the front of the Zoo, saw the girls I had been with on the way down who said they'd had a good day too. This time we were in the massive yellow zoo coaches, with big pics of the Urwin family on the sat, animal print seats and a Steve Urwin DVD playing on the TV at the front! So that made the journey home go quickly! Got back to the hostel and went to my room where Kate was, so I asked her where the supermarket was and headed down there. In hindsight I should have waited to Noosa to go because I now have loads to take to Noosa that I could have got there! But yeah, walk to the supermarket took a lot longer than I thought but at least it wasn't raining. Got my shopping then came back to the hostel, put it in my room then went to the common area. A computer was free as soon as I got there so I went online and booked my hostel in Noosa - the one I had wanted to go to was fully booked but Sarah is at Nomad's and I think most people from Oz Ex go to Nomad's so I've booked there and that should be alright :-) Was gonna start my blogs but Steph rang so I chatted to her which was lovely, was glad she'd rung as it made me leave the computer and join the queue for the free (!) hot dogs at the right time as I got chatting to an Irish girl, Mirium, who was here on her own. She spoke so quickly and after over 24 hours of being on my own my brain felt like it was working triple time!!! Especially as her accent was really strong. Was really nice meeting her though, she had taken a break from work (she's 27) and was travelling south and had one night in Mooloolaba. We sat chatting common area for a couple of hours... the common area makes it sound like a crap room, its actaully a sheltered area by the pool with a big tv, computers, a pool table, a dining table, its really nice. So yeah that was nice chatting there, I even had a beer and liked it! She'd popped to her room and came back and asked if I fancied going out as the guys in her room were. I hadn't really thought there was anywhere to go in Mooloolaba but thought I may aswell, as I hadn't been out for so long! So we went to her room and I met the guys, they were from Brisbane and just here for the weekend. They said there was a club by the marina so I had a shower and got ready, had a few drinks in their room then we left. Didn't think it would be much of a club as the area seems quite quiet but it was good!! Didn't take long to walk there, had two floors - downstairs was a bar with a live band who were really good, played music you could dance too so that was cool! And upstairs was a pretty big club, two areas, one with sofas and stuff and one with a dancefloor. It's hard to blog about nights out because not a lot really happens and they're all simelar but it was a really good night out! I liked the club, got on well with the others and the music was good, woo! Didn't get back till 3 in the morning then we stayed up till about 4, didn't realize it was so late so was so confused when the sun staretd coming up! Explained why I felt so drunk though as we'd been out since 10! But, I wasn't ill and didn't embarrase myself, just paid for it in the morning with a big headache!
