Had a lie in and got out of bed around 10. The Six had gone apart from Sam who was staying another night as he isn't on the Oz Experience so isn't doing the cattle station. Just as I went downstairs to check in for another night the Bath boys were about to head to the beach so I went with them. Laid on the beach as the sun was back out! Was a really sunny day so that was lovely, read my magazine and chatted to the guys for a bit. Wanted to head back in plenty of time for Scooter-Roo so left before them and went back to the cafe I had been to the other day for a milkshake and lunch! Was looking forward to finishing my book and chilling out but the guys came in haha! Didn;t matter though, sat with them and we all ate, I even got a second milkshake!! Then they went back to the beach and I went back to the hostel, had a quick shower then got in my jeans (flet wrong in the heat!) and waited downstairs for the Scooter-Roo!! There were about 15 people from my hostel doing it - the Bath guys had done it the same day as all the others (really should have done it that first day! Keep making wrong decisions!) but wanted to do it again but unfortunately it was fully booked. I loved Scooter-roo but do think it would have been more to fun to have someone the share it with. Hard to meet new people during it. Anyway, the guy came and picked us up and dropped us to the Scooter-Roo center. There were 45 scootors done up as Harleys all in a block they looked amazing! Cheked in and got our helmet and all important flame covered leather jackets! Went and got fake tattoos as well just to top off the look! The front row of bikes were meant to be for more experienced drivers (they were a bit different ) but all the others were taken. Felt confident so didn't mind too much that I was at the front. Had not at all prepared myself for th fact it wouldn't be easy peasy. Playing Mario Kart has made me feel I can do anything! So basically, theres a test track you have to keep driving round till they say you're ok to go. When I stated to go I just had no control over the bike! It was heavier than i expected and i couldn't steer at all! I ended up crashing into a little tree.... Not only could i not steer but I couldn't get used to pushing forward to slow down, not pushing back. No idea why I got that so wrong, not good though when you accelerate when you go to break!! So that kind of shook me up. I kept trying to go round the track, the guys were so so nice and helplful but I just was crap! Kept leaning when you're not meant to, was awful at steering, was just so bad! Was really frustrating but I think I was just really nervous. Have barely been on a bike since I fell off when I was 6 and broke my leg, just never felt comfortable, so think that might be why I couldn't get used to steering and felt nervous. Hadn't thought about it before, forgot that the bike wouldn't be stable by itself. Got a bit upset (couldn't help it it was just my nerves and feeling unsafe) so had a bit of a sit down and they said if I wanted i could sit on the back of one of the guys bike (Laura had done this the other day and a few girls were already doing so that didn't feel confident on the scooters) but i knew i wanted to do it! Kept trying and in the end they gave me the ok to go. i was right at the back of the group but didn't mind that. They said if i felt really uncomfortable i could pull over and stop. Going along the straight road I felt nervous but as i picked up speed it was more stable and I loved it! UIntil that is, I had to steer at all when i would pretty much freak out - just culdn't get a feel for it! So was constantly worrying about that. Tried to relax but felt like I did before doing the Nevis bungee! Stuck with it though, as i absolutely loved it when i was going along straight roads .... was gradually getting more comfortable with cornrs and stuff too. We stopped off for potato wadges and to watch the sunset which was beautiful and that's when i got chatting to two girls who were nice and i moved my nike so i would be going along with them. - had felt a bit lonely at the back! As soon as i got back on the bike, my lack of confidence completely dissaperard - dont know if it was that i had eaten, or spoken to the girls .... no idea but for the last half hour i was like a different person, overtaking everyone and getting near to the front! Was awesome, really really loved it, wish i had felt like that from the start! But guess i had to build up my confidence and it was worth it! We got back to the scooter-roo center and got our photos, gave back our stuff and wrote in the visitors book - they had been so so good, really reasurring when i was nervous and a lot of fun. Got dropped back to the hostel and I got showered and changed and chatted to Sam for a bit then we went and met the bath boys and we all went to the supermarket - I was cooking again! Had planned meatballs and spaghetti )had some left) but they didn't have any and the boys requested spag bol again! Was fine by me so we went back to the hostel and me and Sam cooked that together - he had been a chef at Rainbow Beach for a while and glad i had his input as I thought the spag bol was a lot yummier than the night before! We all sat outside eating that then all tucked into a tub of ice cream too! I went to the room to pack as i was leaving early the next morning, then went back outside. Met the couple I had met on my last night in Noosa, got them to sit with us and we all played.... ring of fire! The couple had loads of extra rules we hadn't had before and i ended up getting so stitched up - so sooo drunk!! We all were actually, the new rules were brutal. We'd only planned to have a quick game then go to the pub to play pool but that was never going to happen. Once the game finished we sat round chatting and everyone gradually went to bed, I stayed up chatting to the couple for ages after, think i went to bed at 3 which wasn't cool as i was up at half 6! had been a really nice evening though , even though I paid for it in the morning :-)
