Agnes Waters is the cheapest place to have surfing lessons along the coast and also the furthest north surfing beach. Had been debating whether or not to do it... would have meant I was rushed for my scooter-roo and I had done it before so didn't know if I should save the money, but i do enjoy it! My mind was made up wehn i woke up to pouring rain.... I wouldn't have been able t do much else with the morning in the rain! So went down with Sarah and Drew (couple Sarah and Drew, not Scouse Sarah who I met in Sydney), Alex and Sam at 10 to the surf school. Checked in, paid and headed down to the beach. There were about 30 people on the lesson. They went through it all on the beach, had the practise then got in the sea! The waves were awesome and the fact it was raining didn't matter at all! I got chatting to three guys from Bath, Chris, Tom and Matt, who I ended up spending the next few days with! Managed to stand up on the surf board more times than i had in my last two lessons so that was cool... was so glad I did the surfing as i would have just been bored and fed up hanging around in the rain- still not feeling great! Definately happier when I am kept busy though and it was really good fun. Got back to the beach and my bag was soaked and the phone Julia gave me is now completely dead.... so back to no alarm!!! Not cool at all. Went back to the surf shop to get our certificates (!) and then went with the Bath boys to a little cafe for lunch as we got vouchers after surfing. Scooter-Roo had been cancelled because of the weather but LUCKILY I had enough time to extend my stay in Agnes Waters by another night. Meant i wouldn't be with the others for the Cattle Station but thought that would make it easier to meet new people so that wasn't an issue. Went back to the hostel and was debating about moving hostels... when booking accomodation I wanted to go to Southern Cross as i had heard good things, but I was a doofus and went with Tess and the guys s I wouldn't be alone.... never saw them after check in! So i was annoyed at myself for that decision so thought about moving but the guy at reception was s***ty when i asked if I could check out - then i couldn't help it and I got really upset! Went and spoke to the Bath guys, they were going to be at the hostel for the next 2 nights so I thought i would just stay and stick with them so i wouldn't be on my own. They were pretty easy to get on with so I did that. The guy at reception was nice when he realized he'd been a bit of an ass and even gave me a phnoe they had (told him about my unlucky few weeks!) but that stopped working a couple of hours later! Might have to buy a new phone. Had a lovely shower and washed my hair, chilled out for a bit then went down and got chatting to cheryl, a girl from reception. She was lovely, I had a load of stuff to sort out online (accomodation, buses, money, the usual) so was chatting to her while I was sorting that out on the computer. Took ages to get everything done! Found out I should have got a different package for Magentic Island and i would have been much ebtter off, annoying because I knew there was a package but the girl I brought of ioff assured me there wasn't! So that was annoying but nevermind. As soon as i was finished with all the booking etc I felt a lot better! Just as I got off the computer the Bath boys came back from town and i suggested i cooked dinner for us all if we split the price. Had been chatting to chryl earlier though and she had asked me to do her a favour... when she got her job she had said she had a driving license, but actuially hadn't passed her test so wasn't to confident with driving. So she asked if I wuld come with her as she picked up the people from the Greyhound bus. It was only down the road, but she was so nervous! She had no reason to be she was fine, but she wanted me to drive back as she didn't like driving with others in the van. I managed t convince her to do it though, then I just parked it at the end. She was soo funny, really ncie girl. Went to the supermarket with the Bath boys to get ingredients and beer and then I cooked a big spag bol. The group of 6 from my room were in the kitchen cooking too. Really enjoyed cooking, I'm going to be amazing at spag bol by the end of this trip! Took a while but I wanted to get it right! The guys loved it and then they washed up, woo! See, I know what I am doing ;-) haha! But yeah it felt nice to be doing something like that, kpet me busy and was appriciated. And, tasted goooood! After dinner we met a few more people and we all sat round outside playing Ring of Fire for a few hours which was really good fun, very funny. Definately my favourite drinking game I'll be taking to uni :-p Sat around watching tv for a while after that, ended up falling alseep on the sofas! When I got back to the room Sarah, Laura, Sam, Alex, Drew and Sarah (hmm need to give that group a name... lets call them the Six with a capital S) were already in bed so I snuggled into my lovely lovely bed and slept again like a baby :-)
