OK, where are we now- Yes Saturday ( sorry have lost track of all date, day time completely!)
A 9am pick up from hostel in Phuket to head to port for crossing to Phi Phi. Avery pleasant 2 hour crossing sunbathing on the top of the boat! WOW- now this is what we expected of Thailand- clear waters, white sand was picturesque- I'm in heaven!! :-) After browsing in some travel agents for some accomadation we relaised was a little more pricey here than elsewhere but our standards were firmly set at AC and hot water ( what can I say we've had good upbringings!). Found a nice resort P.P. Princess minutes from the beach with a pool at still only 20 pound a night for the 3 of us- very happy!! So we nested in room and went for a wonder, very nice island but you could still see how they were re-developing from the Tsuanami! After we'd checked everywhere out and found a resturnat for that evening we headed back to shower and change! Went for a couple of pre-dinner drinks, found a nice bar and fortunately it was happy bar but were approached by this Irish Guy wouldn't leave us a loads and he talked a laod of Eddie's!! Eventually escaped him and his canadian mate and Went to a seafood resturant overlooking the bay, I had Seabass, was yummy but resturant and Other food was dissapointing- Oh well! Then found the best crepes ever for pudding- thoguht we'd swim the extra pounds off tomorrow! A few more drinks then bed as were shattered!
Early rise to hit the beach, beach was gorgeous- No thai's hassling u and the water was crystal clear! Had brunch as were going for an early dinner to have some room for drinking later on for the big game Liverpoool Man U- anyway enough said on that one! Did some snorkelling saw a few fish! After we'd had enough sun did a bit of shopping a booked a catamaran trip for the following day around the bays and Caves of Koh Phi Phi, Snoreklling and Kayaking! After we'd had enough sun, we headed to a beach bar/italian resturant for a bite to eat, met the owner of the resturant who had lived there 20 years and who had survived the Tsunami- he was telling ushis experience during it- we bought his book from him that he has written on his survival of the Tsunami!
9am start, collected our snorkells and Flippers and onto the Catamaran ( wasn't quite the standard as the Heatwave in Barbados but nice!) Sunbathed as we headed out on our tour! We first stopped at Maya Bay (Where the beach was filmed) The boat put its anker down and the shore seemed a long swim but then we were informed that we were to Kayack to shore..hmm 3 on a Kayack, that takes some paddling I can tell u! Eventual we made it to shore gorgous beach and crystal waters! We decided to head back before others on the boat as we thought we'd take a while, was a joke we were paddling against the wind and waves while Steph relaxed in the middle- we were getting nowhere so we grabbed on to 2 Aussie's guys Kayack while they towed! Still going in circles they suprisingly got fed up!! By this time most people we well on their way to the boat we didn't think we'd ever make it! Clire decided to get out and pull us while we Paddled (also we thought this was wise taking the weight of her head and boobs off the Kayack- haha, love u Claire)! We got about 50metres from the boat and the man came and rescued Claire, it was much easier paddling with just the 2 of us! Gald to back on board for a brest and a well needed beer we headed to Viking Cave where we stopped to get some piccies, but couldnt get off here! Lunch was served some yummy cold rice and chicken- nice..! But the fresh Pineapple and Watermelon was very refreshing I must say!! Next to Monkey Island, this was the place to snorkell, we stopped and were surrounded by fish, couldn't wait to get in the water, swam amongst lots of tropical fish a needle fish (Stayed Clear of that one!) and saw this big black one- no clue what it was but didnt look to friendly to I decided to pick the pace up a bit to shore! On the beach were greeted by our new monkey friends, very cute! people were feeding them banana's so I got my picture took with my new friend! We snorkelled back to shore to board the boat, the guy kept thowing rice in for the fish to surround us though was so cool I touched a few of them couldnt believe how Claire's screeching didn't put scare them off ( they were picking on her a little though)! We then set off to Bamboo Island, was quite rough here and was ready to chill so jumped off the boat for a dip and did some sunbathing, Claire swam to shore, to see how tired she was after swimming against the waves back to the boat I think I made a wise decision! :-) We then had a relaxing journey back towards the pier, I think everyone fell alseep then awoke for the sunset, wasn't too impressive though as it was too cloudy! Met a nice group of very well spoken girls from Shrewsbury Girls Grammer School too! Got back to shore about 6.30pm, eone of the best days in Thailand yet! Went back to recharge batteries in our hotel but we'd all had a bit too much sun and didn't feel great, but dragged ourselves out to grab some food as we were starving but then crashed and burned pretty early, we also had to depart the following day for our 15 hour journey back to Bangkok!
And here I am now...overnight coach but was full so wasn't so comfy but managed to get a fair bit of sleep and arrived at 6am this morning! Fortunately our room was available so we went straight to bed. then chores day today, bought some toilettries and bits and bobs as though would be so much cheaper here, now time to pack for Australia...Whoop whoop! Leave hostel at 2pm tomorrow for a 5.30 flight!! Catch up when in Aus! x x x
Hello remembered whilst lying in bed last night I forrgot to tell u about the boxing we watched (as u do), went into a bar just around the corner form our hotel and it had a proper boxing ring in it- basically if u volunteered to box in the ring fro fun you won a free bucket!! Thought we be quite amusing to watch so we got ourself a drink! First an engligh guy and aussie guy stepped into the ring- Oh my god that were beating everything out of each other, reallky going for it, there was a proper referee and everything (not that he did anything!) was crazy!! Next up came to thai guys, didnt wear any protection were so quick it was amazing, just knocking each other out- madness! Was quite amusing when Steph went to the loo and this random girl said she was looking for someone to fight was she interested Steph ran a mile after watching that!!
Anyway killing time before airport now....cya xxx
