So... Day 6!! Since I updated on arrival have been busy girls! So night 1- a bite to eat and an explore turned into some interesting Thai food and a night of lash (much more safe here then we thought so don't worry!!) Met lots of poeple, the majority of them irish backpackers! We were introduced to the local beer and Thai buckets which contained whisky, red bull and coke, yummy! :-) Time flew and before we knew it was 6.30 am-opps!
So Day 2, a slow start woke at 3pm, opps again, missed the sun! :-( I blame the jet lag of course!! Managed to find a pizza express as we didnt think we could stpmach Thai food on a hangover! We then wondered around KSR and resisted to but the hurendous fake clothes!! So a hare of the dog was needed, found nice bar with AC, and doh are friends from night before we there, before we knew it we were all in burger king at 6am, still on English time!\
Day 3- We were determined to start seeing the country now, 10am wake up alarm, made breakfast and headed to MBK Siam Square (apparantly the centre for worlwide fashion in Thailand- Pah! It was rubbish, more fake clothes...booo! So we headed back on a mission to plan our 3 weeks here, booked a 2 day trekking tour 2 Chang Mai for the following day, grabbed a bite to eat then got a well needed early night.
Day 4- Early start, thought it was time we did some site seeing, headed to Grand Palace and osme other temple, on our travels found a sports torni with Thai's playing a game that was a bit like volleyball but with the feet!! Lots of walking and we're pretty tired, we rehtinked our 12 hr bus journey we were facing that evening after talking to some poeple and changed our tour to doing exactly the same but in Kanchanaburi, just a 2 hour coach journey away! Yet another early night as a 7am leave the following day!
Day 5- Kanchanaburi
Visited a war cemetary and museum, Yes we did i'm not making that up and I couldn't believe I was doing so without my folks making me!! Then went on death vally railway, was cool, but the way the thing was rocking ona tiny track so high up was a lil scary for me let alone Claire, amazing views though! Then visited Sai Yok Noi waterfall before getting transferred to accomadation for the night, didnt know what 2 expect and where they were taking us! Eded up being quite nice a lilttle billage of cottages and entertainment on a floating raft house thing, so food and guitarman there, very chiled!
Day 6
6.30am alarm, not liking these early mornings, visited Hell Fire Pass museum, another war museum things, Steph and I Sunbather for a couple of hours whilst Claire showed a little interest (she claims its her dads influence!) then to the elephant riding, wow, the pics will show all, I had to go on one with a random Aussie Guy as Claire was scared of the height of the elephant, whatever next hey! Next to the bamboo rafting, floated down the river on bamboo's back to our floating house for lunch, was looking forward to having a dip until I saw the colour of the river, Yuk, I must admit I am looking forward to going to a clean country! :-) Then minibus back to bangkok before bus 12 hr bus journey to islands...Yippeee! Catching in an hour so must go grab some food! Promise will upload piccies in a few days when more time!
Hope everyone's well!
