Lovewells vs The World
A bit late but here it is! Gemma Today we left our motel on the edge of the desert and went on to Yosemite national park. The Tioga pass had been closed for snow but it opened just in time for us to go over it, although some side roads were still closed. We drove up to about 10000 feet, and it was weird to eat our lunch at 8000 feet. Along the way we saw a lot of snow, 2 squirrels, and an elk! We had to keep our food locked away because the Bears were coming out of hibernation and were hungry! There are also mountain lions (Cougars) and wolves here and they give you a pamphlet about how to deal with these creatures if you encounter them. We didn't see any, but we did see bear tracks and claw marks on trees, so I can see why the Rangers warn you. We got some brilliant photos, and had a great time. As it was just starting thaw season, we saw one amazing lake which was half water and half ice, which looked terrific. There were lots of trees growing out of the rocks, which looked freaky, especially when they were growing sideways. Every time we turned a corner there was something new to take your breath away. Stopping to play in the mountain snow was very different from yesterday melting in the desert, but it was a nice change. And even more weird, we were in t shirt and shorts, in the snow that was as high as my neck, but we're not cold...how does that work?! Overall, I think Yosemite national park was an amazing day I am so lucky to have seen it.
