Lovewells vs The World
Daniel: Monday, Grand Canyon Day. We went on a bus trip to the grand canyon. On the bus my sun glasses fell off TWICE. It took about 5 minutes to get to the Grand Canyon. At the canyon, there was a pile of rocks shaped a pyramid. We hiked up the pyramid ( It took a couple of minutes!) we went downhill shuffling through crevasses to get to the bottom, though it was fun! At the Haulapi ranch I got to shoot real arrows from a bow and arrow. Score for bull eyes: TWO! I guess that was pretty accurate. But when I "hit the hay"... Yeah...not so much... On the way home we stopped at the Hoover Dam. I noticed on the rocks high up there was a box made of stone. We guessed it was a gun hideout. Also, shame, you can't take your dog or any other animal across the top of the dam! So we hid our horses and Jaguars down the side of the rental car so the ranger ( who had a gun!) didn't see our animals. We had dinner at Sam's Town hotel. It was a little too much dinner and pudding, although I must say the fruit punch was very nice, along with everything else like lasagne and the ice cream station. There was a show with lasers, geysers and animals. It was good. It was funny when you were sitting inside and suddenly water burst up in front of you! But I guess that is normal in crazy Las Vegas. Gemma: Today we went to the Grand Canyon! It was epic. There were three view points: Haulapi ranch, and two points where it would be very easy to fall off. At eagle point there was a rock that looked like an eagle. The Skywalk was very ugly, and we didn't go on it. We took heaps of photos, and we really enjoyed the that. At Guano Point we did a mini hike in the Grand Canyon...it was very hot! On the way back, we stopped at Hoover Dam and drove across it. We had to hide our toys, because there were no animals allowed on the crossing. Compared to the size of the dam, there was only a small amount of water in the base. I can't imagine how hard it was building it in the 1930s without the machines we have now. It took a lot of abseiling, and a lot of concrete. Hoover Dam was awesome! For dinner, went to SAM's town. Our dinner was a buffet, and there were too many delicious things to choose, so we all ate way too much, but we still had dessert. During dinner, a show was on. It was amazing, there were laser lights, geysers, a huge waterfall and animals. The animals weren't real, but you would think they were. A wolf was the main attraction, and he was obviously commanding the other things. There was a bald eagle, and the eagle raised its wings and screamed. Wolfie howled, and everything was still. After he had finished, the geysers erupted. To finish, there was a magnificent light show, and the courtyard was covered in light. It was spectacular.
