Wonder Works. We had driven past this crazy upside-down building previously (the day we got lost driving to the outlet mall), and decided it was just the place for our Gang of Four to explore on our "quiet day."
Inside, after paying the admission price, we tramped up to the next floor where we were met with fun and educational experiments, simulations and games about things like earthquakes, physics, hurricanes, optical illusions, and much more.
The next room had more of the same and on the top floor ( the "basement" of the upside - down building there was laser tag, a ropes course, and a better 3D movie than the one we'd seen at Epcot (sorry, Michael, RIP).
There were also a variety of arcade games, which my four year old and I played while we waited for the others to finish the ropes course.
We managed to fill half a day without even noticing, and it was truly a fun experience for the whole family. The only disappointment was the cafeteria - we had a voucher with "buy one, get one free;" but the options were greasy and unappetizing. We opted to dine in at the Pizza Hut across the road instead.

We were curious to check out some of the stores near our villa on the way home - JC Penny, and Target. Mum tells me we used to have JC Penny in Brisbane City (where David Jones is now)! It had a slightly old fashioned air about it - unpretentious, good basics. Target was pretty much the same as Walmart, to my surprise. Groceries, pharmacy, a Starbucks, a Pizza Hut Express, and in house optometrist, in addition to the expected fashion and homewares.
There is a Michaels craft store in the same shopping strip, I hope to give that a once-over while I'm still in the area, for research purposes.
