We tried our hand at outlet mall shopping at Orlando Premium Outlets, International Drive. There are three or four Premium Outlet Malls, relatively close to each other, but this is the biggest of them.
Unfortunately, it took us a long time to get there as we were going off the stupid tourist map with terrible scale instead of the GPS.
The upside to getting lost was that we accidentally drove through DisneyWorld! They laughed and waved us through when we explained we were lost. We also went past a lot of the other main theme parks too, so at least we know where to go next week- this week is a holiday week so the parks are incredibly crowded. Next week will be quieter, so we have planned to go then.
By the time we got to the outlet mall the kids where cranky and hungry, and Matty was miserable because he was feeling unwell. Not a good start. Then there was the parking - nightmare.
But once we found Edy's Ice Cream shop the day brightened up. The kids have discovered the American invention known as the ice cream sandwich, and they love them!
We were unable to shop as much as we'd have liked (the kids' ice cream enhanced mood only extended so far), but suffice it to say, I'll be back! Over 80 outlet shops with designers to chain stores and all were on sale. Heaven.
On the way home we dropped into our local grocery store, Publix, to pick up something for dinner. We noticed that for a multicultural country, there was almost nothing in the "international food" section from the Asia region. You cannot buy Asian Indian food in the supermarket. We found an alleged Thai Green Curry simmer sauce - but to my dismay it tasted very bland, and not at all like any green curry I've ever tasted! The kids ate it anyway, so it wasn't all bad.

Carolyn Maybe some of the Cuban style food might have some spice?
