After spending a few days chilling out with my family and getting to know them and their lives i caught a bus up to Hervey Bay - the gateway to Fraser island.
I met Martin on the way (a friend from Meribel!) abnd we had a bit of a catch up.
Arriving at Hervey Bay and settling into my dorm who walks in?! -none other than poppins and pocahontas the guys i was with in Byron! Fate eh?
i got up early the next morning and did a day tour to Fraser island which was spectacular.
We visited Lake McKenzie, Maheno Shipwreck which is just lying in the middle of 75 mile beach, saw coloured sands at Pinnacle and walked in Eli Creek. It was a fantastic day meeting loadsa cool people as per usual.
We all caught the Oz bus again next mornng (apart from Julie! lol bless her) and arrived in Kroombit cattle station around lunch. After being fed a fantastic steak for lunch we mounted our horse and headed outninto the dustance to muster up the goats. After rounding them all up and putting them away for the night we then hada goat rodeo where we had to catch the goats and brand them - very funny and very muddy! I then had a go at clay pigeon shooting which was easier than i thought and lasooing. After this came the gorgeous ride back to camp at sunset - pity i didn't have my camera. Sharing my roast dinner this night with a huge hairy spider is something that i will never forget!
Chilling out around the camp fire in the evening we learnt how to crack a whip properly which is actually really difficult and we had a go on the mechanical bull! i was rubbish lasting a mere 4 seconds! The next morning we continued on our journey northwards to Airlie Beach.
