Hey Guys!
well, it's been a while and so what i'm about to write about will be pretty vague coa alot has happened since then.
After a last day in Sydney sightseeing etc i caught the bus early and headed up to surf camp stopping at a surf museum on the way and meeting a very cool but very old surfer dude who turned out to be some old profi who clearly still thought he was young and fit trying it on with all of the girls on the bus! very funny - he even had a little surf boudoir thing! lol
arriving at surf camp early eve we chilled out around a campfire and got to know oneanother over 'Goon' (cheap wine) and buritos. The next morning we got up far too eraly and got kitted out for our surf lesson. Despite the water being bittingly cold we had a great crack with the first sighted fit aussie surfer dudes we had been waiting for! Surfing was suprisingly easy and i was definitely up for learning more furthe up the coast - unfortunately i didnt have time. i'm just hoping surfing will be as easy at home with the surf probably being half the size.
We left surf camp at midday and headed up to Byron Bay where we met our first hippies on the beach. We watched the sunset with them playing on the drums in the background - memories! We then hit the local back packing bar cheeky monkeys which was awesome - giving away monkey money to auction things like skydives (so -you basically got them free!)
The next day we had planned to hire out bikes and surf boards and spend a day outside, however when we woke it was pouring so we jumped on a tur to Nimbin - hippy town and Oz's no1 hemp capital. This was an awesome day, very interesting to say the least and me and julie came back a little worse for wear after having one too many cookies spending a good hour in hysterics over nothing! i must say the bad effects of this kicked in later when we got home and i was able to do nothing but go to bed (at 5pm!) waking only once during the night to find my room mates singing S-Club into hairbrushes - i thougt at the time i was still hallucinating! This day gave me the nickname cookie monster which is still haunting me today!
The next day was back to it's sunny self so we took a bike ride up tot he lighthouse and i managed to see both whales and dolphins from the top! we caught the bus to Brisbane later that afternoon stopping off to go Zorbing on the way! - a very strange activity which involves being put into a massive rubber ball with two other people and some warm water then being pushed down a hill - great fun though! We spent one night in Brisbane before going our seperate ways and i headed up to Maroochydore to visit more family.
