What a day in the quiet town of Roanoke. We started the day going to the grape festival in grapevine. It was like something out of the movies. A small country town with old fashioned buildings and friendly southern hospitality. We.... I mean I sampled some wine and then Paul and I entered the grape stomping competition. We didnt win but because we are Aussies the organiser gave us winner t shirts.... People are so nice here. We then came back to the hotel to get ready for the speedway. Surprisingly it was great fun....a lot better than at home. The kids loved it. After a few drinks at the speedway....well after I had a few drinks we headed to Walmart for a bit of Munchie shopping at midnight. Now that certainly was an experience tho apparently we were interesting as a shop attendant stopped us when he heard our accent. We explained our fascination with Walmart from the emails that circulate at home. All in all it was an awesome day
