Monday - What a great day we've just had we took a short wander down to the nearest bus stop to get our coach over to Rancho Texas. Nice little trip and we were greeted by some incredible enclosures for the animals! They really have gone all out to make it look amazing! Each morning the park care takers go into the enclosures and make sure it looks tidy and presentable! They have a amazing collection of cactus growing within the park they are huge! Logan's favorite animal were the sea lions he even had his photo taken with one of them!
We watched a indoor parrot show which was fantastic they had 3 different types of parrot each type had 2 birds 1 male and 1 female they did some funny little stunt one could match colored shapes another could ride a scooter. There was one that could ride a parrot bike they were absolutely brilliant to start with the host walked round with a pair and you could have your photos taken one would lie on its back and pretend to be dead in your hands and the other would sit on your shoulder! Dave and Logan had their photo taken together then I had mine separately because they had moved closer to get a better view!
After the parrot show we went outside to an open arena where they did a bird of prey show which was better than any bird of prey display I have ever seen they had some huge birds that would swoop down really low. We got some photos of the bird flying around we are just hoping the sun was in the right place to get a good photo. Logan was starting to get restless but we continued on as far as he could go! During the display a lady was throwing meat into the air to show how one type of bird could catch food in mid flight!
Shortly after the bird of prey shows we wandered round to the sea lion pool where Logan and myself had a photo taken we then watched the show which was brilliant they had the sea lions singing and dancing, diving into the pool, collecting big hula rings and much more they were excellent. By this time Logan was at the point he didn't want to do anything else but lie on the floor and scream and shout!
After the sea lion show we headed to the splash park so he could chill out on a subbed for a short while. This soon changed when he seen a big water tower filling up a bucket when it was full it would type all over the pool he thought it was brilliant although far too cold for him to play! We headed off to the gift shop and find some shade to wait for our coach back. Logan bought a few gifts for people back at home and of course collecting out souvenir photos with the parrots and sea lion. Just after that Logan crashed out cuddled into his daddy and slept the whole way back on the coach. I am relaxing in the apartment after doing a lot of walking today and starting to feel the pain Dave has taken Logan out to the children's play area. This evening we are joining a lot of the resort guests at an all you can eat BBQ and hopefully see some of the entertainment too. The next few days are going to be chilled and low key probably spending a fair amount of time in the resort or at the beach.
