As I type we are currently in the catamaran crossing from Lanzarote to Fuerteventura it's pretty choppy but an incredible experience! We went down to the bottom of the boat where they have windows and they fed the fish there were loads of them Logan was so excited waving at the fish as they swam past. We have just seen a flying fish come from under the catamaran and fly straight across in front of us.
We docked at Fuerteventura and got on the excursions coach where we made a short journey into town for a 2 hour shopping trip in Las Palmas Shopping Centre, Fuerteventura's equivalent of Cabot Circus so we are currently escaping the sun and chilling out in a slightly sheltered restaurant seating area eating a delicious homemade caramel ice cream and Logan has found a little children's climbing frame to play on we've had a quick browse at shops but they are all majorly expensive so instead of tempting ourselves with things we can't afford we might as well just sit back relax and enjoy the surroundings!
After the shopping trip we boarded the coach and took a short trip out to the nature park to see all the sand dunes, it had started to rain quite heavily so by the time we reached the dunes the top layer was really wet but as you walked on it the top layer cracked to reveal a dry white sand below. Our tour guide explained that the dunes are made up of 30% sand from the Sahara and 70% White Sea shells. Although it was raining we still had a beautiful view of the dunes and volcanos. We then left the nature park and stopped at a restaurant to have lunch. I must admit for the price we paid for the entire day was not reflected in what we did and there's an awful lot of us on the trip that will be complaining. I booked 2 adults and 1 child onto the trip yet Logan didn't get a meal so had to eat some of ours I would have thought that paying for him to be on the trip he would have been included in food!
After the dunes we were ment to go to the beach but instead we were taken back to the town and left for nearly 3 hours to go shopping again! We aimlessly wandered around with hardly any money as we weren't expecting to need any! Logan has been asking the whole time to go on a train and we knew there weren't any until in town a road train pulled up costing us just €14 we jumped on board for a 30 journey round and probably seen more and had more fun on the train that the entire coach trip! When we finally got picked up we boarded the catamaran and oh my word I wish I hadn't! The sea was so choppy it was like riding a roller-coaster. The gentle sat to the side of us was crying and girl on the other side of the boat was crying I was over heating and Needed to get fresh air and whilst gone People kept looking at Logan and knowing he was pale when I left I thought he had collapsed Dave said he was asleep a lady grabbed Logan from Dave I thought she was worried he has collapsed too I got back to him as quickly as I could to find Logan snoring away happily and Dave throwing his guts up! That's my classy husband right there! Next minute I'm throwing up and Logan was the only one to be ok! He was still asleep when we got off the boat!
A coach then finished the journey back to the nearest bus stop I continued to be ill on the way home. I was in pain from walking all day and by the time we got off the coach I couldn't walk we had to get a taxi to take us 3 blocks to our hotel! All in all an interesting day but still not happy with the excursion! I'm sure if the weather had been nicer it would have been ok but still to have to spend 6 hours shopping was not part of the trip! We were all in bed by 7:30pm! Exhausted and me in agony!
