Day 13: Salzburg.
Today has unfortunately been quite an uneventful day (so the post will be fairly short).
I was up this morning at 7am planning on getting the 8:13 train to Villach and then on to Salzburg (there was a direct train from Bled but it left 2 hours later and I wanted more time to explore the city). Unfortunatley, due to some strike in Beograd my first train was 40 minutes late, so I missed my connection at Villach. I then had to wait for an hour and a half for the next train, which ironically was the direct train I could have got from Bled! So day 13 started out very unluckily for me.
When I eventually got to Salzburg it was mid afternoon. I managed to find my hostel quite quickly and checked in. I'm staying in a really nice 6 person mixed room. The hostel is really nice and the staff are very friendly (oh and by the way the password for the wifi is "soundofmusic"!).
Up until today I hadn't managed to find any laundry facilities ob my travels, and things were getting a bit dire, so I spent the next two hours doing washing and talking to my new roommate. When I had finished we decided to go out for dinner for some proper Austrian food. Tonight I finally tried some apple strudel, which was amazing! After dinner we headed back to the hostel for an early night, as we both are going on a Sound of Music tour tomorrow! (me on a bike, him on a bus).
So there you have my fairly uneventful first day in Salzburg. Tomorrow it's time to get my Sound of Music on!
