Road trip - day 6 - Thursday

Today is the Schwarzwald forest walk day!!

We had a late breakfast (again!) and set off back towards Calw to park up on a forest car park & set off on a track under the tree canopy.
We started off on a Tarmac bike/walkers path but soon ended up near to the path but on a forest trail.

Photo opportunities were aplenty; the quiet & greenery were lovely. We spent quite a while stopping & snapping shots from different angles & composition.

We walked through the forest to a wide rough path & followed it to a meadow before turning back & trying a different forest trail. We could hear the road nearby in places & kept away .... preferring the greenery & birdsong.

After a couple of hours we returned to the car, changed into shorts & went for a drive ..... surprise, surprise; we ended up in a cafe with an ice-cream & a beer ;)

We followed on with a quick drive, getting a bit lost in one of the bigger towns & needing the sat nav for guidance. Stopped off back at the apartment for G to get his book before ending up in D to read books & take on the lovely sunshine / approx 23c today

Planning on dinner on Bad Wildbad tonight

Dinner update - visited the Wildbaden Hoff & had a lovely meal! G had traditional dumplings & salad whilst I had spargel pancakes with hollandaise suave & potatoes. Pan-cotta with strawberries & rhubarb to follow as a shared desert. Yummy!! And the desert was half price on the roll of a dice - even better!! We had tried the Cafe Am Bad first but the kitchen was closed so had parked near the Palais Spa; left there & drove the wrong way up the tran lines to be 'told' by an unhappy German in a 4x4!!
