Road trip - day 5 - Wednesday

Late start! Not up till 9am; started a new book so read a while in bed

Excited at the prospect of fresh pink grapefruit for breakfast! Had bread & jam too

Debated where to go; weather forecast is no rain & 20c, lovely& warming the sun but unfortunately our veranda doesn't get any through the day ;)

Decided on a walk in the forest later but would try Calw the regional 'hub'. We explored the possibility of using our free train ticket & decided to go to the station in Bad Wildbad...... on the way there we noticed the train tracks were up so change of plan to driving the 20km.

Parked no problem near the market square. Had a quick wander & a drink then another wander to the other side of town. Stopped at a lovely bar for another ice cream sundae! I had my usual Black Forest interpretation (lovely but lacking loads of cherries). We debated the rest of the afternoon activities & decided that we would stop at a park to read books then see what the weather looked like for our forest walk & visit a supermarket.

We stopped at the supermarket in Bad Wildbad & stocked up on alcohol free beers in single bottles to try & also got tofu curry worst sausages fur tea with mushrooms & red cabbage along side white asparagus (spargle) & hollandaise sauce as a starter. Note to self - revisit the pretzel aisle to investigate the sizes & varieties to take home as pressies!! Also got a couple of bottles of schnapps & cherries!

Back at the apartment we had tea & decided to stay in & gave an early walk in the morning. Good job! Monica & Herbert asked about our leaving arrangements & popped down with schnapps & other fruit liquor to try!! It's do embarrassing that we couldn't converse more easily ;(

Just a note ...... George reckons he has driven 926 miles so far (Ish!!)
