Day SEVEN-Leaving Coral Bay.
Last night was our last night in Coral Bay and the Perth group had all managed to get on the bus. So we were all united to get to Exmouth. We all went to the Ningaloo Resort last night for some drinkies and then we went to the beach and sat around a fire.
So today we left for Coral Bay and we were all most dissappointed with our choice of driver for the day-thankgod most of us had planned to hop off agin in Exmouth. The trainee driver Val didn't quite know where she was going and there was a lot of ill-map reading skills going on. The group Victor, Therese, Kai, Bryan, Mathilde and Emmanuel sat at the back giggling and singing Queen, Johnny Cash and Valerie by Mark Ronson just for the driver (I don't think she really understood). When we left Coral Bay Bryan was still drinking goon out of a beer bottle, so very messy...
Today we only had a few stops- as the driver wasn't too sure most of the time where she was supposed to stop. We drove down the road of Coral Bay to the beach (a short minute walk) to let the people who haven't snorkelled yet have a go-so they could sit on the bus wet all day which was very appealing of course. We left them to it and went for a coffee. The drive to Exmouth normally takes around 2 1/2 hours,. I think with all the 'Uies' we did it took us the most part of all day. We stopped off at a few stops on the way namely the big prawn, some termite mounds and for some snorkelling at Turquoise Bay.
It was a drift snorkel so I with the bright idea suggested we started further down the coast. We spotted Angelfish, neons, black and white clown fish, blackspotted tuskfish, gropers, parrotfish, longtoms and Kai and I saw aseasnake which was so funny. It was black and white stripey worm and dissappeared into the seabed down a hole with its tail whirling around above! We also spotted 2 blue-spotted stingrays which we stalked for a bit.
I got a bit carried away and was the last one in our group to get out. Tehrese and Bryan saw some white tipped reef sharks and some turtles. Duuuude! Exmouth is situated on a penisula/cape and the West coast has the Ningaloo reef marine park. The cape is separated by the cape range. Its miles to the town of Exmouth. We arrived at th eholiday park at around 8 an all showered and enjoyed a last night altogether, for Therese, Emmanuel and Victor are leaving us tomorrow. We went out for a last supper for Chinese -in a really busy restaurant (we were the only onese there) and stuffed ourselves. We then went back for some goon at the hostel.
