Hey everyone!
Boy have i got loads to tell you all about!!
Basically after my last blog, we had just arrived in Hervey Bay, a very small town of which we were staying along side the beach. The town itself was very industrial looking and many of retail parks! We had a little mouch around the sea front and then got the shuttle bus into the shopping centre (retail parks) we picked up a few snacks and headed straight for the cinema to watch NEW MOON it was soooo good, we even treated ourselves to chocolate hehe! We headed to the suppermarket afterwards and walked all the way home as the sun was low and we were feeling energetic :S
We spent most of our time in Hervey bay catching up on sleep and lazing by the beach which we practically had to our selves, not many people around at all!
It was a nice plcae not too rememberable though~! ooooo except me and lucy cooked a roast chicken dinner, lovely :) Obviously not as good as mums, gosh i miss your food mummy lol, excited for you to spoil me when i get home haha!!
Next on our list was heading straight to a twn called 1770, very origional as it was named after the year iun which Caption Cook first arrived to Australia.
Our bus driver was really good and made the journey very cool and quick.
We did a stop to have a go at go karting, however i was more interested in eating so gave it a miss :D
That night our driver had planned fror our whole bus to meet back up again and have a sunset bbq party!
We got settled into our hostel which was in the middle of know where and felt a bit like rehab as lucy nicely put it, the hostel was great the pool was awesome and we have a massive open dining area which felt very alfresco!!
That night we went up to 1770 lookout point which is the nothest point in the area and watched the sun set while eating nibbles was ace. We then headed down to the bbq area and set up all the food it was a feast and everyone had a wicked time, as the stars came out we were watching the moons reflection on the waters while eating sausages hehe, our true aussie bbq that was in the wild haha. LOveed it.
The next day we took our swimmers to the beach and had a lazy day looking around the town which only consisted of about 10 shops haha!
We both got sunburnt this day, the wind was so nice and strong we didnt realise how hot the sun was. (we have learnt from our mistakes mum's )
This night we chilled in front of the large tv in the communal area and watched a few films, was really nice to just relax.
The hostel had alot of land and had a gorgeous lake which me and lucy loved to sit on the jetty trying to find fish!
Our last day we hung around the hostel most the day, then deciced to walk into the town, which was a good idea at the time untill on the move it got really hot, wer got sweaty and then my hat flew off my head and i was chasing it for ages, all without lucy knowing! haha
We got a few souvernears and then got the bus back, ready for a free campfire/ pooll party, with a free bbq AWESOME!! we love the free food lol
Had a really good night chatting around the camp fire and meeting people who were going to be on our bus in the morning.
We woke early ready to catch the bus to Krombit, which is the cattle station in the middle of know where!
We were excited and glad that most the people n our bus were good fun and cool. After a long drive we arrived at the cattle station and prepared ourselves to become true cowgirls, we kitted ourselves out and got into the spirit with cowgirl hats and bandaners, haha very funny. Our accommerdation was in shed, very cool!!!!!!!
We hung around the pool untill a few of the others came back from quadbiking and horse riding. We then headed up to the goat rodeo area up at sunset hill which was 2 mins drive from camp. It was a very hot day!!!! We all had a lesson in lasso'ing this was very hard but good fun, we then had our turn at clay pidgeon shooting, this was wicked, we gt 5 shots and i got 2 our of 5 not bad for a first timer, the shotgun was really impressive and love it hehehe!!
We then went over to all the goats which were penned in, a few people played a game in which meant lassoing the goat dragging it back to the other team members and flipping it over to be branded, me and Lucy both gave this a miss as we didnt want to get poo on us, and it was very hot and smally, besides we both had a funny time watching overs lol!!!!
This night we have a roast beef dinner, with chicken soup starter, very nice! We hung around camp by the bar and then had a brief history lesson of the area and what the guys do on the cattle station day in and day out! very interesting. The old guy that owns the station showed us how to do whip cracking, ths was brilliant, the nice is so loud and its a proper work our, utterly awesome!! He was a pro, We had a go and did a few cracks but he was brilliant.
We then went over to the Mechanical bull which was very funny, many people fell off straight away and luckily me and lucyas wernt too bad i came off in 3 seconds as it becomes a little painfull being chucked around ya know lol!
Very good fun thought. Then the rest of the night we had a few drinks and played drinking games.
Me and lucy retired about 12-1is as we had to be up at 6, were not that hardcore!
In the morning we left mighty early and was heading for Rockhampton, no one else was stopping here just the two of us got off. We got picked up by the guy who owns the hostel, we were staying a fair way out of Rockhampton itself in a place called emu park.
When we arrived at the hostel we were in luxury and were totally spoilt, at a low cost. We were situated right on the beach and the hostel itself is fairly new and the pool was centred in the middle of accommodation, we had our own room with tv and large beds, just what we needed after Krombit!!!!
We chilled by the pool most that day, we took a walk into the town (or street) very small village. We decidced to have a girly night in with pizza, coke and potateo wedges!!! It all turned for the worst when i had went into check the pizza, which we had to put under the grill as the oven wouldnt work. I leant down looking in the grill and felt it wasnt hot, so without thinking i hit the ignite button not thinking the gas had been on for a while and it exploded in my face a gas explosion, so painfull it singed my hair at the front and my eyelashes off! I have no eyelashes nw, feel so ugle its horrible!!!!!!!!
So that wasnt too good, our night was ruined, and to top it off them pizza got burnt too!
We retired for an early night and went to watch tv in our room.
The next day the weather was terrible raining and i mean chucking it down. It shouldnt rain in Australia!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lucy funily enough booked in to have her eyelashes tinted lol, so we had to walk out in the storm, into town...... we got soaked!!!!!!!!!!
We then caught the bus into a town close called Yapoon, 20 mins away! It was a nice town with a shopping complex, we got some shopping and then headed back to Emu Park. We had a couple of hours in the room as the rain was still chucking down. We then coked a chilli and had a night watching tv :) very relaxing and a lovely hostel in which im sure we wont ever forget (well i bloody wont :( stupid gas cookers)
Anyway so after yet another eventfull time for me, we set off again after 2 nights there to catch outr next bus which was heading for Airlie Beach, where we are to go on our whitsundays sailing trip so very excited!! the bus took a wopping 8-10 hours a very long day, however we did stop to play a brief game of bowls, very fun :)
We arrived yesterday and its a lovely place with gorgeous views of the sea, howevere we cant swim in the sea from now on as there are stingers. Here in Airlie beach there is a man made Lagoon which is lovely. We had not yet tried it out but will do when we return from our trip. Last night we sta on the waterfront watching the full moon light the sea and the stars come out, was very romantic...........
Our hostel is cool with a large complex of bars and nightclubs, in which Airlie beach is know for, completly backpackers.... Party central! But dont worry i still dont have my passport, so i have no ID so still cant go out! sucks!!! However it should be arriving son and then ill be no longer an illegal immagant haha!
Today we have sorted our whitsundays trip out and need to go back to hostel and pack our things ready! We went to a local cute market along the watewrbront on the beach it was awesome, we saw cammels too! Lucy got told off for touching one hahaha! bless her. We also had a didgeredo lesson, this was so funny and really hard, all that breathing and blowing has made me hungry..haha! were going to have sme fish and chips and sit by the seafront and watch the drunken people fall into the lagoon haha very funny :P
Heading off to Whitsundays sailing trip tomorrow, it is well known and the sand is pure white, there are 74 islands altogether and we get to sail arund a few of them im really excited, however i will need to take my sea leggs as i do get sea sick...lucky lucy mwhahaha!!
I will let you all knw how it goes once im back after the 2 day 2 night experience!!!!!
Hope everyone is well,
Loads of Love to all
