Well here we go again guys, yet another blog update. I just cant believe how quickly im getting up the east coast.
After my last blog we had just left Brisbane, heading for Mooloolaba, we were excited to hit the beach again.
We had a really good time here, our hostel was awesome full of backpackers who just chilled by the pool had so much fun. The town was small but had some really nice cafes and nightclubs. We randomly met up with a couple of Welsh guys we had met back down the coast at Byron bay, a really good group of people had a rather drunken night and went clubbing! very funny, we played goon pong at the hostel, whcih is where you have to through a ping pong ball into a cub of goon in order to win, if you loose you have to neck the cup of wine, very deadly haha!
We lost...... We had several days relaxing by the pool and at the beach, we found a little location further away from where we were staying which had a nice vibe, we spent most of a day there relaxing and people watching :)
Mooloolaba was a very good place and not many people no of it, we were lucky we got advised to stay there. It felt like a proper holiday as we had our own room to our selves! Good times!!
We didnt want to leave but as always we have to see everywhere, we the set off after 3 days of blish and luxury and fun to Noosa.
Noosa again was a lovely place (not as fun or pretty as mooloolaba though), we were staying at a cheap backpackers called dolphins, which was slightly out of town, we had to get free shuttle buses in and out. This was a pain as the last one was at 6pm so we couldnt really go out with out having to pay for a taxi back! Never the less we had a brilliant time chilling out in the sun and down the beach "sunshine beach" most of the time.
At frist our hostel was really grubby we thought there might be bed bugs so was a little paranoide, but it turned out to be alright, we had our own communal room and kitchen. We didnt really get to bond with anyone here, but we wernt too bothered, its hard work allways meeting people you know lol!
we ventured into Noosa town one of the days and walked along the main beach this was lovely, loads of little cute shops and ice cream parlours :) we of course treated ourselfs hehe!
We had nights in front of the tv, watching films and really relaxing, this was so nice :)
After 4 days of doing nothing it was time to leave, we headed for rainbow beach, we had heard its rather small and is litterly just the place where everyone departs to go to FRASER ISLAND.
We arrived around 4.30pm just in time to have a brief look around the beach, which was stunning! we met our roomies who were from israel, very funny chaps!
The next day we went down to the beach, where i amazingly pulled up my socks and ran along the beach for around 20 mins, it was so nice and felt like i was in a movie, or just living the perfect lifestyle like you see on tv haha!
We then had our fraser island briefing at 2pm which lasted for a few hours, we met the guys who were in our group and then went to pack our things and get an early night as it was an early start to head to Fraser Island,, ooooo so exciting.
The next morning was painfull, a 6am start!!!!!!!! We had another briefing and chit chat with our group before heading of to start our 4x4 safari camping trip to the largest sand island!!!
We made it over the barge and landed safely on Fraser island, however, remembering it is the largest sand island, yes we got stuck and had to push several times, this was so funny at first but soon became a pain. we didnt get stuck for long and the drivers out of our 11 people group did a really good job!! I lost my flip flop in the sand after 2 mins of arriving there, so upsetting! the sand was just so soft and fine.
We set off after getting un stuck, heading for one of the most beautiful lakes on the island, Lake mckensie, so beautiful, words can hardly describe the pure white sands and turquise waters, surrounded by bright green trees and bushlands, a typical postcard picture.
We were told that we were not going to shower for 3 days so to make the most of the lakes, and to act as they were showers haha! Couldnt swim in the sea as there were sharks!
the trip soon became very comfortable, all 11 of us cramped into a small 4x4 truck getting very sweaty and sandy, it was truely lovely :)
Our group was really good and had a right mixture of nationalities, including germans, irish, english, dutch, and swish people!
We set up camp that night with all 5 other groups that left that day too, we met up with our roomies the israel guys and got rather drunkt hat night :) we did a lot of star gazing, this was so beautiful, the island was pitch black and the stars were so clear :)
We had to get to grips with nature, with no showers or toilets in sight, i think you guys know what i mean :S
We were worned about wild dingos that were on the island, to stay clear and to always put our food away etc, howevere they are so cheeky, they came so close and stole a 4pint of milk carton out of our cool box, within 5 feet of where we were sitting, very funny!!!!
I cooked steak on the bbq for everyone this night, i did a good job i think!!
The next day it was rather early start yet again, 6am!! We packed up camp and all set off to Indian head, the most peacefull, prettiest lookour point on the island, we sat watching waiting to see some marine action. We only saw a manta ray, but this was still impressive! The weather was absolutly roasting through our the whole trip!
We then walked all along the beach to a place called champaygne pools, this was where the sea water crashes into a pool surronded by rocks, where we could swim, this was also so beautiful!!
Once we had played in the sea and topped up our tans, we headed back to the car for food. getting used to the taste of sand, and crunching on everyfood we had! Truely was discusting haha!
A new girl behind the wheel drove off trying to get the car through the sand! silly silly silly, 5 of us had to walk with out flip flops on the sand which was very hot, she really didnt stop for us a good mile, this killed our feets they all got burnt :( not a good time!
After suffering a little bit of pain we headed to the mareno (not sure if spelt correctly) ship wreck which was totally stunning, absolutly impressive.
We headed to a popular creek which was pure spring water, which was totally freezing! but very refreshing and CLEAN!!!!!
We headed to our second camp site, to celebrate our last night together, very emotional! but we celebrated in style! Had a huge beach party and played loads of drinking games, had a really good night and was sad it was coming to an end so soon.
The 3rd day we had to head back towards the barge, we stopped off at lake wabby which was stunning, we headed through rainforest to reach the lake! We swam in the lake with catfish surrounding us! A strange experience, but very cool!
everyone was chilling in the lake, it was a wicked day and couldnt of had a better trip.
Sadly the trip did come to an end and we arrived back to rainbow beach after our 3 day 2 night adventure at Fraser Island, myself and Lucy both have many good memories of this time, that we will never forget :)
We spent our last night with everyone again getting drunk, (ya have to do it) we all had a party out on the field outside our hostel, saying goodbye and drinking goon :)
We stayed for 2 nights at rainbow beach just to try and catch up on sleep as it was pretty impossible on fraser island!!!!!!
Our last day we did our own thing, I headed tot he pool and chilled out, got some postcards and did the whole tourest thing :) We had an early night ready to head off on our bus in the morning!!!!
Was so sad to see everyone go, good times!
We arrived in a place called Hervey bay today, which i will fill you all in about on my next blog :)
I hope you enjoy the read and are not too jealous :P
Love to everyone :) xxxxxxxx
