Easter Sunday and our final full day in Chiang Mai. I've smuggled easter treats for Madison and Ashley but after the journey and heat some are slightly deformed into blobs of chocolate, all the same the surprise goes down well!
We spend the day at the Eco park that has a large swimming pool giving us the chance to cool off. We meet a lovely couple who are days into there 15 month trip away from the UK, they plan to do a little travelling around Asia then off to Australia in the hope they could stay permanently, exciting!
The evening is spent at the sunday walking markets where the food is amazing and so cheap. The market is vast and has the bonus of street entertainers to take the edge of the long walk. This is our first glimpse of 'the other side of Thailand' as we pass a stretch of bars where lady boys are touting business. Our decision to take a Songthaew home rather than a tuk tuk is a bad one as the driver drives around town before promptly dispatching us nowhere near our location telling us she doesn't know where we are going, great! Luckily my internal sat nav doesn't let me down and I manage to navigate back in the right direction to hail a tuk tuk home.
It's up early the next morning for our flight back to Bangkok and onto Krabi, it feels sad to be leaving Tanita House but exciting we're on our way to the beaches and the next leg of our adventure!
