A taxi ride and two flights later we land at Krabi airport and are greeted by rain, but not Manchester rain so that's ok! Our transfer from the hotel fails to show so we make our own way arriving just before sunset. We're greeted by sheer luxury, porters to carry our bags, welcome drinks, wet cloths to cool our faces and the sound of waterfalls but somehow after the authentic feel of Tanita House it feels slightly clinical. Now I'm not being ungrateful as the direct pool access, the wonderful wet room, lovely towels, beds etc are great but does this feel like the Thailand we are beginning to love, not really! Madison heads straight into the pool and is rather impressed it stays open until 9pm!
We unpack, again, and head out. Ao Nang is clearly a beach resort, it has a nice feel. The tuk tuks are different here and the Songthaew's are smaller, funkier vans, some kitted out but still red! It's seems easy to navigate around and our hotel is only a short stroll from the shops, restaurants and the beach!
The lads are interested in one thing, where can they watch the football, Manchester United are playing Chelsea so its their priority to find a pub to watch it in, luckily, for them, its right across the road, United lose anyway. We head into an Indian restaurant, the food is amazing, well Lee, Ash and Mads food is, for some reason I chose to have burger and chips, what the bloody hell, bad mistake! It's an early night after our long day back to our luxury hotel but excited we're finally heading to the beach tomorrow, yay!
Before the nights over Madison discovers a wobbly tooth which miraculously comes out within the hour, I'm convinced she's forced it as loosing a tooth on holiday seems to be one of her favourite things to do. She doesn't want a visit from the Thai tooth fairy opting to keep this tooth!
