Ao Nang 2/3 April
A breakfast of fresh pancakes made by a street food vendor, the street food here is different. The menus are extensive, up to 50 different choices ranging from fruit punch, pancakes, curry, noodles, everything and all cooked fresh at the side of the road on a stall that is attached and carried on a motorbike, amazing!
They even put out table and chairs for you to sit and eat by the roadside and have a allocated seating area raised from the road with self made steps moulded into the land! We know at this point we'll be back for more, this beats any sitting down in a restaurant.
The next two days are spent on the beaches (and two early morning runs on the treadmill). Madison and I have a beachside massage, mine coconut and hers Aloe Vera, gorgeous. We took a long tail boat to Railey Beach, theres no other way of getting here and its truly paradise, picture perfect in every way, we laze the whole day away and why not!
Somehow we get lost once back at Ao Nang and after a comedic walk up the wrong road make our way to what, over a very short time, has become our favourite street food lady. A thai green chicken and a massaman chicken curry with rice made right in front of us (I'll say it again, at the side of the road) for just over £2, unbelievable! This time it's Ashley's turn to regret his food choice, he spotted a subway on the wrong road we were on and opted for that, tut tut!
Our last evening is cocktail and mocktail led, there's a lightning storm and the rain comes down very heavy, and although we're in the sanctuary of a bar Ash and Mads can't help running into the street to cool off Madison also sitting in the one place in the bar where the roof leaks, badly! It's ironic I've had a message from the lovely Jenny (it's also her birthday today) who tells me the sun has been out at home but it's not Manchester rain so who cares!
We book our ferry transfer for 9am tomorrow morning, pack up and get ready to say goodbye Ao Nang and hello Koh Phi Phi!
